I guess it was Reed's turn this week.

At least Lou will be more inclined to use Fukudome in the leadoff spot against righties.

I guess the spark will be back. Nothing against Reed, but with all the injuries weve been dealing with, I think we can get by without him for a month.

Agreed. In the grand scheme of injuries, if we HAD to pick someone on the current MLB roster to go on the DL, Reed wouldn't be your last choice

I love Johnson's attitude and still like him overall, but he really hasn't done much this season. It's not the end of the world.

This is Kosuke's opportunity to prove that he deserves to start full time instead of platooning.

That thought just made me throw up.

Whut?

Hilarious. I blame the fact that we didn't start an injury thread this season. Now the entire team is going to spend some time on the DL.

Why wouldn't they give Taguchi a shot in this situation?

Didn't they release him?

And yeah this isn't that big of a deal. He's not batting all that well this year anyway.

No, he's still on the Iowa roster and played as recently as Monday of this week.

He has done well against left-handers again this year which is what he was signed to do. It's too bad they've stuck him out there against too many right-handers which has deflated his numbers.

If the Cubs can get Soto back soon though, the lineup against left-handers should still be strong enough without Reed there. It will be interesting to see how the Cubs will choose to structure the lineup against a left-hander now.

Certainly, didn't mean to discredit what he does against lefties - but yeah, Lou has left him out there for far too many right handers this year. Either way, though, we'll be okay without him I think.

for lefties why don't we just swing soriano over to center and put fox in left

terrible defense...but nice billy clubs

I broke my foot once at a Cubs game, now I feel like Reed and I have something in common.

How does one accomplish such a feat?
