Not to be rude, but, where in the heck is he right now?

I wonder when the last time Mark actually picked up a baseball. I know he signed with the Padres again in the winter, but he's never actually thrown a pitch even in the minors for them in the two or three years he's been with them now.

His career record as it stands (major leagues) right now is 42-29 with a 3.51 ERA in 4 "official" seasons.

a google search reveals that he has just recently put his Chicago townhouse up for sale.

And this is all Wikipedia has for this season

On January 13, 2009, Prior agreed to a one-year minor league contact with the San Diego Padres. The minor league deal includes a $1 million option that will be lifted if Prior pitches in the major leagues in 2009.

From Rotoworld, May 1:

Mark Prior reported feeling pain in his shoulder after a bullpen session Tuesday at the Padres' spring training complex.

Sounds about right. The Padres have instructed him to "take a step back" in his rehab, and it's not clear when he'll begin throwing again. "The poor guy just can't seem to get over the hump," said manager Bud Black. "He is doing everything possible for him to come back. ... I hope it works out for him."

I feel bad for how things turned out for him.

Seriously. The poor guy can't catch a break.

He's probably too busy being a weak minded wussy.

that every single one of us loved until Dusty abused him in 2003. I dont think you can call someone weak minded when something was actually wrong with him.

Another chapter ends in the Mark Prior saga, and it still isn't on a positive note: According to MLB.com's Corey Brock, there are indications that the Padres are about to release Prior from his minor-league contract, possibly today.

The 28-year-old Prior hasn't thrown since April, says Brock. The former phenom had signed a deal with the Padres in January that would have been worth $1MM had he reached the majors. But as it stands, Prior hasn't played in a big league game since 2006.

Let's hope we can finally stop talking about him after this.

Why? We should talk about him, especially his awesome 2 year run with us. He was a huge part of one of the best Cubs' teams in our lifetimes.
