Hooray for playing a man short ONCE AGAIN this season. How about we just get rid of David freaking Patton, and call up another position player for Christs sake.

but now Zambrano is back P/H so it's not necessary.

1/3 of the way through the season and Milton has been completely worthless. Surprise, surprise.

In regards to Patton - seriously - why is this guy on the team? He blows, and has pitched twice in the past month.

I think it's time for Hendry to choke on a Krispy Kreme - maybe the brief lack of oxygen would jumpstart his brain into thinking mode...

Yes, his slow start was a surprise. Anyone who says they knew he would underperform is a [expletive] liar. What he has shown throughout his career is that when he's not missing time is that he produces at the plate. Everyone knew he'd likely miss significant time this season...what nobody knew was that he'd start so slowly. He also has not been "worthless" the entire stretch of the season so far, but why let reality get in the way of another Jim Hendry fat joke?

Reality is his injury history, and the 3 (or is it 4) injuries he's suffered so far this year. I would think that players who are injured/not healthy don't perform up to their standards; therefore, I don't find his performance so far this year a surprise. I've been a poster here for numerous years and have yet to make a Hendry fat reference until my last post. I'll take this time to make another...

Jim Hendry is so fat that when the circus came to town and forgot their tent he loaned them his panties to use instead.

Except that contrary to what you've said Bradley has shown he does produce despite time missed due to injuries.

Not really.

Throughout enough of his career that anyone banking he would have started as slowly as he did would have been just been totally shooting in the dark or clarivoyant. There was little reason to assume he'd be such a hitting non-factor when able to play during April and into May like he was.

Put me in the camp that doesn't define production as a .220 avg and .728 ops through 1/3 of the season. I didn't bank on the fact he'd start slow - just that he'd been continuously injured/unhealthy.

But again, he's shown repeatedly that he can be very good when able to play. Nobody is saying his numbers to this point are ideal, but to sarcastically say "surprise, surprise" as if you knew he'd be putting up numbers like that is bunk.

I'm not the least bit surprised that he's already had a few injuries; thus, it comes as no surprise that he's not performing (which I believe is likely a result of said injuries).

Surpise, surprise...Milton Bradley is injured again. Is that better?

According to cubs.com he's expected to be available for pinch hitting this weekend and there is a high probability that he'll be ready to return to the lineup in Houston next week.

Granted hes no Alexei Ramirez, but Hendry is of pretty average build for a man his age for someone who warrants so many fat jokes.

he is overweight, hence the fat jokes

I can see where he's going though. He's certainly not fat enough to warrant such lame jokes year after year.

And what's even better, I'm fairly certain that some of the people cracking fat jokes on Hendry probably are more out of shape than he is.

Age has nothing to do with it. You are either overweight/obese or you aren't.

We play in Houston again? Jesus, that's our third series there and we haven't had Milwaukee at home yet.

And last series in Houston. For some reason, we got all the trips to Houston out of the way early this year.

I guess it is better to play them early before they play their annual .890 ball after the break.
