Why have we quit taking pitches?

 

Dusty Baker finally figured out how to cast a hex on this team from afar.

In all seriousness that was the most enjoyable thing about last year for me. Finally we were making the other pitchers work.

Anyone in the thread tonight actually been to the Cardinals' "new" park? How does it rate?

 

It's nice but nothing mind-blowing.

 

I was there yesterday and agree with this. There's nothing I can specifically say I didn't like, but nothing that wowed me either. I found it somewhat ironic that I didn't see a single vendor selling Busch beer there.

Had to change things up because of a three game sample size.

Looks like the Cardinals have been hitting their spots at will in this series. I don't see the value in automatically going down 0-2 every at bat. The problem is that they can't hit these pitchers underwhelming stuff.

i'm just saying, it's a nice stadium, clean and whatnot, but if you're going for amenities or anything its nothing spectacular.

 

That's exactly it. They cheaped out on doing anything cool or unique because the Cards footed most of the bill themselves. It's just a nice, new, generic stadium. My biggest gripe about the stadium is the fact that it is very difficult to get to the 200 level seats unless you know exactly where you're going. It's a pretty terrible set up.

 

The park also doesn't have any good/traditional food (shocker since it's in St. Louis). They just have the traditional dogs, brats, nachos and crap like that.

I'm glad I'm not watching this on TV but keeping myself detached with a gamecast, so I'm not really emotionally involved

 

I'd recommend that to anyone else frustrated with the Cubs. I still have to keep track of what they are doing, but this way whenever bad stuff happens its kind of expected and done in a least dramatic way.

 

Yes little men on pretend bases, keep circling them, I don't really mind.
