Listening to Mike & Mike debate whether it's a right or a privilege for Vick to play in the NFL this morning made my head hurt.

While I find Vick's crime atrocious. I'm a dog lover myself. He's paid his debt to society. He's been out of the NFL for a couple of years. Priviledge or not, he should be re-instated. Now, if no one wants him on his team, that's ok. But I don't think his suspension should extend past his sentence.

Completely agreed. I sure don't think a "Sportscenter Special" was needed for this last night either.

Agreed, but if they gave him 4 games just to flex a little muscle and be consistent with other off the field problems, it would make sense. Anything more than that would just be Goodell being a jerk because he doesn't like the guy.

It will be interesting to see which owner gambles on him. I would think it would have to be a big market team with excess fans to burn. A team like Jacksonville with no fans might not be able to risk the PR hit that they would get.

With the fickle nature of sports fans, fans will only complain about him if they lose. If he were to sign with a team and help that team win, the fans for that team will come around. He's always going to endure the jeers on the road, but that's just the way it is.

Mike and Mike need to die. They are two of the biggest morons at espn, which is saying something. They have the biggest feeling of self worth on tv. Rant over

Oh and I would like to see Vick back in the league. Regardless of how much of a moron he is, he was still entertaining as hell to watch.

Because they are finding outside of minnesota and buffalo, no one cares about Favre and Owens anymore. So to keep the never ending NFL hype going they have to over report another story. Too bad, there is actually some compelling stuff going on in the NBA and NHL playoffs

I have no sympathy at all for people who torture and fight dogs, but I agree that he has served his sentence and should be allowed to get on with his life. But if he does it again, through the book at him.

I agree he's served his time from a legal standpoint. But has he served any official NFL time off yet? As far as I know the only reason he hasn't played in the NFL is because he was arrested and incarcerated. The league still probably has the right to suspend the guy as they see fit. I think a 4-game suspension for 2009 would be appropriate, and I still think it's going to take him a long time to be of use to an NFL team, if he ever is again.

Imagine if Vick is reinstated, and has to go to Cleveland and play in front of the Dawg Pound....

:rotfl:

Please let this happen

Seriously, I agree -- I think the guy has paid his debt. He's served his jail sentence, did his time. I won't mind if he's re-instated.

It would be better if he went to Cincy or another division opponent and played against the dawg pound once a year.

I'm fine with him being reinstated, but I'd love to seem have to play for a "normal" working person's salary for at least a few years. We'd see how much he really loves the game then.

Well thats what I was talking about as I would think Cleveland would probably be one of the last teams interested in signing him.

I am so happy the Bears have Cutler. Now I don't have to listen to questions about whether the Bears should sign Vick, if he is available to play in the NFL.

Vick as a niner makes the most sense to me.

With Jesus Singletary as the head coach? I highly doubt it.

If Jesus Dungy can forgive the kid, I'm sure Singletary can hop on that bandwagon.

And Singletary can sell the 'forgiveness'. Its not like Mike hasnt helped trouble people in the past or shun them.

True, but unless prison really reformed the heck out of Vick, he probably still isn't the hardest working guy around and that's the thing Singletary can't stand. Vick should have been so much better without any of the off the field garbage. Although the off the field stuff probably played a part in why he wasn't better and its all a representation of his overall character, which could have been rehabilitated.

I think the Dolphins could be a fit, too. Parcells would read him the riot act and then put him in there with Brown, Williams, Pennington, Ginn. Could be exciting.

Didn't they already throw the book at him? Seems he got it a lot worse than say Leonard Little.
