Hendry is supposedly talking to the media about Bradley's suspension right now.

You mean the one that should have been served when he was injured and Lou never fathomed the idea of Ramirez going down for 2 months?

Cubs are 10-3 in May, that doesn't sound right with all the crap that has gone wrong.

Thats just because fans were overreacting WAY more then they should have been. Right now the Cubs are 20-14 and one game ahead of the 19-15 record they had last season after 34 games. Last season team had issues as well, but probably not as many and this season team has had a tough schedule. This team is good and will be in the playoffs and my opinion of the team has never changed. Too bad so many people bash this team when things go bad for a stretch.

It's easy to worry about this team. People don't think Dempster can repeat. Soto may have a sophomore slump. Lee is worthless. There's a good chance that neither Bradley and Soriano will be healthy enough to play 130 games. Ramirez may not even come back this season. Fukudome started well last year and crashed. Nobody likes Theriot for some reason. Zambrano is hurt. Harden will get hurt. There is no middle bullpen. Marmol and Gregg have been less than ideal to this point. There are plenty of worries. It's just easier to forget them when they run off a 10-3 stretch.

reduced to 1 game. Served tomorrow, fine stays the same.

Hendry doesn't agree with the ruling.

I don't necessarily agree, but I'm glad it was reduced. He was justified in appealing.

And before anybody complains about him sitting today, just remember, he's going to miss 40-60 (or maybe more) games this year. The whole point of having Bradley is making sure he's available in October.

It took 4 weeks and MLB delivered the news via e-mail. Really? Can't even give Jim a call.

Bob had to wait until it would help his Astros.

Milton's response - "Figures. I never get treated fairly."

The messed up thing is the umpire agrees that any touching was accidental, there was no swearing and no threats.

Wow, Milton said this was the first he has appealed a suspension. I just thought everybody automatically appealed unless they could work it where they are banged up or a starting pitcher appeals but drops to set it up to where they don't really miss any time.

Milton loves him some Jim Hendry! Is it just me or does he look like he wants to cry?

I think the look is him realizing that he is never going to get a fair wrap as long as he's a major league baseball player.

You can have those same worries just about any team in baseball. Overall you gotta look at the talent and the track record of these guys and know it's very rare for everything to go wrong in a major league season. Most of those worries won't be a issue just like they aren't in most major league seasons. I felt the same way about this team right now as I did when they were 10-11 or 16-14. A 162 game is a rollercoaster ride filled with a bunch of good and bad stretches of games. I don't know how some fans make it through a 162 games with the way they act during the bad stretches. Even last seasons team had plenty of stretches were they looked horrible or bad. This team is very talented and knows how to win in the regular season. They will be in the playoffs and I would still feel the same way if they go 2-4 next week. But in my opinion this team still hasn't played it's best baseball and is gonna go on a major roll at some point. But yeah there a good team and will have 90 plus wins again. Unless of course this is just one of those odd seasons when everything just goes wrong but thats not something people can predict.

yeah but the team has a 20-14 record with a lot of things going wrong. ramirez has been hurt, lee has been as bad as he can possibly be, soto has also been terrible, bradley has been hurt and/or bad, harden and dempster havent been great, the bullpen has issued way too many free passes. offensively the cubs have one of the worst BABIP in baseball, and they have a .295 BABIP against despite the lowest LD% in baseball. i'd argue that the cubs' luck or performance versus expected has been a net negative, and they're still 20-14. so yeah there are things to worry about, but thinking that this is an average or worse team - which is what a lot of people were saying - is silly.

Yeah the fact that were playing this well with so many players underperforming should tell us that when these players do start to play better this team is going to be really really good. I'm sorry but any person who feels this team is bad or even average at any point this season just doesn't understand baseball.

Maybe if you wouldn't be nuttier than a fruitcake, there wouldn't be a stigma attached to everything you touch.

But this should have been served when he was hurt anyway.
