LOL at the Padres. This 1 game could change our pythag record by like 5 games. Hahaha.

I bet Peavy is drinking himself to death in the clubhouse right now.

He's happy that the Cubs are starting to play better so when he gets traded to Chicago in a couple months, he'll be going to a good team.

i know that peavy is a great pitcher, but shouldn't the cubs have some leverage in any trade negotiations? the padres are clearly going nowhere the next couple of years, and they'll be paying peavy a lot of money to pitch well for a terrible team. plus he has limited the number of teams he will go to. it seems to me the cubs shouldn't have to give up the farm for him.

Scales.... I don't care if this is a fluke, Miles should not see the field for a few days at least

Even if it is just a fluke, you need to ride the hot hand as long as you can. Its not like theres a superior option right now.

I think you're right, but given the condition of our farm, it wouldn't take much to deplete it... I can't see a deal being done unless Vitters is shipped, for example

If you can get a stud pitcher who is under control for a few years and only 27, you don't let Josh Vitters hold that up.

If it means winning the big show, I say deplete the farm to the ground.

Oh, I don't disagree at all.. My primary point is simply that we don't have much on the farm, so it wouldn't take much to deplete it. If we need to do it to get a Peavy, we have to consider it

this score is screaming for some ascanio.

Which means we'll get Marmol and Gregg.

I think our farm is getting better. Thomas has some value as does the kid from Vanderbilt. But, yeah we don't have a ton of depth.

not with this score. if ascanio gives up 2 runs and has a couple more on base, lou could always panic and put in marmol. he likes doing that.

I'm amused by the fact that the Cubs have more runs than hits right now and also have as many walks as hits.

I'm thinking we get an inning of Ascanio and an inning of Patton here to finish it up.

Kosuke is a freaking machine right now. Let's hope he can keep this up...

Right now he's the guy we were all hoping we were getting last year

How IS Vitters doing this year anyway?

And has Wieters been called up yet?

Vitters has a .308/.348/.449 line so far this year.

Wieters has not been called up. His line in AAA is .263/.366/.368.

Peoria is A-ball right? With Boise & Daytona being low-A ?
