Miles isn't exactly a legit backup SS either....

Your right he's not, but Freel has never played a game at SS in his career.

It's not Freel's fault he never played for Tony LaRussa.

I know its not considered cool around here to say anything posive about Miles but if he can go back to being his .280 hitting self, Id JUST AS SOON keep him at 2nd over the other options. Granted, he'll never OPS over .700, but we could use another guy like Theriot who can get a lot of singles and the occasional double. You dont have to have a murderers row to make the playoffs, especially when you have the pitching we have. Yes, I said it. if were not going to make a trade, I want Aaron Miles in the starting lineup. Flame away.

So basically you're saying that IF by some baseball miracle, Miles completely pulls himself out of the toilet and somehow brings his average from .204 up to .280, you wouldn't mind him playing 2nd.

Way to rock the boat, there.

Or, ride the Scales train for as long as we can, as long as he keeps getting on base at a reasonable clip and playing adequate defense.

No wait, I like your idea better.

Exactly how long are we allowing him this chance to be something he hasn't been for the past 2 months?

As much as I hate his presence on the team, Miles has been the unluckiest hitter in a team full of unlucky hitters so far. He has a 23% LD% and a .241 BABIP, that's amazing.

I have a hard time believing that. I swear the majority of his outs are little soft dribblers back to the pitcher.

Id JUST AS SOON retract that statement. Screw Miles and the horse he rode in on.

Not all line drives are created equal.
