Why do these ESPN announcers keep stating emphatically that the Big East is the second best conference in the country?

Rep. I'll be the first to say that the Big East is down this year (which a lot of people projected before the season).

ND takes care of DePaul behind a two-pronged effort from Abromaitis (30 pts) and Harangody (24).

DePaul played fairly well, but had no answer for ND on the boards and some lackluster perimeter defense. I'm glad Webster is letting the young guys play (Faber, Wallace, Hill, Kelly) rather than wasting a bunch of minutes on walk-ons like Wainwright did. Let's hope these guys can progress a bit before the new coach comes in. At least they are competitive now and beating Marquette is always fun, ND would have been the cherry on top.

This feels like college football season where every conference is "down" somehow.

And Kansas crushed Iowa State. Snood was freaking out over nothing.

Best game we've played since Temple. It was against a depleted ISU, admittedly. But Hilton is a tough place to play, and they gave UT a very rough game, so I don't think I was freaking out over nothing. Marcus Morris is looking better and better. Aldrich looked like himself again, and it was against a pretty decent frontline. Taylor also played better. Just need X to recapture the magic.

Should be a tough game vs Mizzou on Monday, but I think we'll win going away. Saturday vs KSU will be bananas.

Maybe I'm a homer, but with KU, UT and KSU as the tier one teams in the big 12, and Baylor, Mizzou, and OK St/A&M as the tier two, I'd say the Big 12 is the toughest. Kenpom says it's the ACC, though.

I don't buy KSU as a tier 1 team. Beating UT at home is nice, but UT is about to lose another road game, and as I type this KSU is about to lose to OSU at home and they've already lost to Mizzou on the road.

Just as I say the Big East is down, UConn downs Texas with a dominating 2nd half. Maybe I should hate on them more often...

Only positive for ISU today:

Other than that this team is awful.

Me either. KState is improved for sure, but still not at the level of a top tier team.

How in the hell does ISU have two guys as talented as Gilstrap and and Brackins yet suck so badly, oh yeah they have no guards at all.

KSU definitely can't handle success. Today's loss is unacceptable.

Yeah, when did it become okay to use that little chicken wing move and not get called for hooking the defensive player?

Overall, this game is being terribly officiated. It's been in favor of Northwestern, but there are bad calls going both ways with all the ticky tack crap that's getting called.

16 free throws in a half has got to be some sort of record for these chuckers.

They clearly crushed DJ on a 3 too and it wasn't called. Be consistant.

Apparently DMac didn't just get hip checked on that fast break. Interesting. At least they got the travel on the other end.
