Not happy with the defensive effort, and the FT shooting was poor until the last 20 seconds, but they won anyway against a middle-tier WAC team. So, not terrible, but they need to wake up during games they should win. Paul and DJ need to pick it up both on the defensive end and in ball-handling.

Offense much improved from last year. Defense much worst than last year. I'm scared to see what the Big Ten has in store with the defense as poor as it is right now. Luckily we have a soft early run in conference

okay, maybe we'll win. but boise state's offense is just ram and chuck and i hate it.

Say what you will, but the Illini can't handle the ball and allow too many open shots.

they can handle the ball they're just careless passers.

Outside of McCamey, they're turnover machines. The ball handling and passing is sloppy. And the defense is way too loose. There's a big continuity problem with the team, which I suppose should be expected with so many new young players. I expect us to get a lot better over the course of the season, but these close games with mediocre teams are a result more of the Illini deficiencies than the other team just being hot/lucky.

the turnovers aren't due to ballhandling, they're due to sloppy passing and some bouts of over-aggressiveness. we actually have a guy capable of getting to the rack this year and he gives it up in traffic sometimes. i don't see that as a problem, really. i like the fact that we're dribble-driving more.

I don't know, I've seen the ball just taken from Richardson and Paul more than a few times. Too many times. The passing has been worse, but overall ball protection has been an obvious problem. If that doesn't get shored up, we'll be on the wrong side of some bad scores against the better B10 teams. The aggressive penetration is indeed a welcome change, though. And once the team gels, I think they'll score a lot of points.

We're also missing a defensive stopper, a la Sergio/Chester.

SIU basketball sucks. Losing to SLU by double digits is pathetic. Lowery's been horrible the last couple of years ever since the last of the Weber and Painter recruits have left.

technically it was dmac that had all of the turnovers tonight.

Tonight, yeah. And he's the best ballhandler on the team, not a great ballhandler in general. This team just turns the ball over a whole lot. At least compared to what we're used to.

Mizzou completely dismantled Oregon, leading by as much as 30 in the first half and winning 106-69. Great to get a win over a BCS school after the two losses, even if it's a middle of the pack Oregon in a really down Pac-10.

The Pac-10 isn't BCS worthy this season. Yeesh.

Okay, this is ridiculous. ISU is losing by about 20 to Cal and getting out rebounded approximately 40-20. There's no freaking way a team this tall and athletic should be getting beat on the glass this bad. McDermott needs to get this team turned around fast or there's gonna be a push to get rid of him.

What the hell were Illinois and the BlackHawks thinking ??? Ruining Sulley's perfect weekend like that ???

they shouldn't have been so close.

You'd bitch if we hung you with a new rope !!

well, it only puts me at 2-5 now with an utterly strange cub-like illini football loss.

Evan Turner out 8 weeks. That sucks. Easily my favorite player in America to watch.

And we don't play them for another 9 weeks. Nothing good about this.

I imagine that two broken vertabrae will cause him to be a different player for most of this year anyways.
