Oh look, Tenn is reporting another "minor" violation. ESPN did a special on Outside the Lines, in which they were interviewing Lane Kiffin in his office while recruits were in his office with him. Really really beyond ridiculous teams can commit as many minor violations as they want with no punishment. There really is no reason to have the term "minor violation" when nothing is done about them.

The "Big Cat Weekend" was about as embarrassing as a recruiting tool as the Tiger Prowl Limo. Anybody who considers the "Big Cat Weekend" a success has very low standards, IMO.

If they actually get those players, then yeah its a success for Auburn.

CNS didn't want any of those guys, so they're not good enough.

Missouri's prize recruit, 5* DT/TE Sheldon Richardson, didn't qualify and will play 2 seasons at JUCO while trying to qualify. He left these parting words to any opposing team's fans on his FB.

"bout 2 leave 4 cali yea cali its cool i didnt make str8 2 mizzou ima keep my head up like a nose bleed sorry mizzou fans gotta wait a lil while longer but i promise wen i get there we wil b on top n 4 u KU FANS DISSIN ME YALL GOIN SEE ME REAL SOON I PROMISE WHILE IM THERE WE WONT LOSE 2 YALL WACK AZZ R TEXAS R OKALAHOMA YEA I TALK BIG **** N I BACK DAT **** UP 2 M..I..Z.. GOTTA PROBLEM LET ME KNO HOEZ"

I'm shocked he couldn't qualify at a university.

Yeah, but what about Missouri.

Picked up Phil Steele's preview this weekend. It's incredible how much writing and statistical information you can fit in a two page team preview when you single space, use 8 point, narrow font, and write in shorthand. He never wastes an opportunity to tell you that his picks are the most accurate over the last 10 years (kind of annoying), so it will be interesting to see how some of his surprise picks turn out (Illinois t2 w/ tOSU in the Big 10 and Notre Dame in the top 10 stand out). Overall I'm very impressed.

Who does Steele have winning the Big 10? Iowa?

Penn State, Iowa t4. Iowa is actually a couple spots higher than Illinois in his power rankings though, they just have a tougher schedule (4 tough road games).

Who is Iowa t4 with?

Iowa is going to be in the Top 3 in the Big 10 this year - they're too stacked coming into this year to not be.

Michigan State, who's much lower in his power rankings. I think they're top 3 in the Big 10 in talent (if they can lay off the public intox arrests), but @PSU, @Wisconsin, @MSU, and @OSU is a brutal conference road schedule.

Lennon Creer and Ahmad Paige have both transferred from Tennessee to Louisiana Tech. They'll have to sit out this season, but should help out in 2010.

Creer's a heck of a talent. He could have a future in the NFL.

Paige I'm not as sure about. He was highly touted when he came to Tennessee, but didn't do much here, despite our receivers not being all that impressive last year (save for Gerald Jones).

Game Highlights http://www.qbforce.com

Statement of Facts

Fact: I was a National Recruit out of High School including multiple Pac-10 offers.

Fact: I was a scout.com (4) Star QB labeled as a dual-threat. I learned a complicated offense that calls for a pocket passing QB.

Fact: I'm a life long UCLA Fan. I love UCLA Football. Most Bruin fans have been very supportive/good people.

Fact: I've always worked hard in the classroom as a student athlete where I've been recognized as a UCLA Honor Roll student.

Fact: I've competed hard in games and on the practice field, in film and meetings where I've always come prepared, attentive, always taking notes.

Fact: I believe my UCLA teammates respect me, especially the defense since my freshman year including past D-Coordinator Coach Walker.

Fact: I was practice player of the week as a freshman multiple times.

Fact: New QB Coach Norm Chow and New Head Coach Rick Neuheisel have brought in and played since day (1) their own guys (Quarterbacks)

i.e. Kevin Craft.

Fact: In late February New QB Coach Norm Chow told me that the younger guys would get most of the QB reps in Spring Ball.

Fact: This is a pattern nationally. When New Coaches come in, they recruit their own guys, especially at the quarterback position. It's just like the corporate world, New Owners bring in New Management. With that being said, I do not fault them.

Fact: In early March 2009, after seeing the writing on the wall, I reluctantly requested a meeting with Coach Neuheisel. In our meeting, I respectfully requested a "Permission to Contact Letter" NCCA bylaws 13.1.1.3 Personal request attached, not to be confused with a 'Release" as it was inaccurately reported by Brian Dohn of Inside UCLA, the Bruin Report and a few others.

Fact: My heart is at the Quarterback position. I have several solid options around the country to play. My quandary is and always has been that I also love UCLA.

Fact: I've always been a "team player" and have done what has been asked of me. Including but not limited to practicing WR in this years spring ball. Not to be confused with moving permanently to the position as it was again inaccurately reported.

Fact: In 2007, I was (1) of the top (7) Quarterbacks in the country. However, none of that matters unless there is true opportunity to compete afforded.

Fact: I have reached my decision "Furman University" Greenville, South Carolina.

Fact: I like and believe in Head Coach Bobby Lamb's system and style. I am looking forward to the challenges at Furman University.

Fact: I would like to wear #7 as I did in High School at Saint Augustine in San Diego, California.

Fact: I want to be part of the "Greatness of Fuhman University" academic's.

I don't believe those times for a second.

Then again, I don't really believe any 40 times from college football. Wayyyy too many stories of supposedly "4.4 guys" going to the combine and running 4.7s.

Kinda like the 6'10" college basketball players who are magically 6'7" in shoes at the NBA workouts

Right................CNS doesn't need recruiting stunts like what Auburn is doing to get great prospects.

And shnsajax there is no guarantee AU can get any of those players. Lattimore (high profile RB) has already removed Auburn as his favorite on dropped them down on his leaderboard. The only prospect AU was able to gain ground on was a solid OG name Mack I believe, who Alabama isn't even recruiting.

Obviously, even if they get Verbal's that means nothing now a days. I'm saying if they actually sign then yes that program could be considered a success. I don't think it is going to work, but if they suddenly have a great recruiting class then its hard to argue.

Alabama supposedly has to vacate their wins from 2005 to 2007.

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=4250596

What is your excuse, RedFlash?

'05-'07 weren't exactly the 'glory years' for Alabama football, so they won't be vacating anything of significance. Players receiving duplicate books to sell to other students is the same as receiving money, so there is no excuse. However, it still seems to be a fairly large punishment for the infraction in my opinion.

If the #1 ranked RB prospect (Seastrunk) says he is leaning towards committing with a team, it doesn't make sense to you that the #2 prospect (Lattimore) at that same position may become less interested in comitting with that team? you don't make mention of Seastrunk. When I look at this objectively, I'd honestly rather have Lattimore as Seastrunk seems like a nut job from what I've read about him so far.
