Anyone catch this?

Yep... if the Hawks would have lost I would have posted my list of 6 non-calls... that was one of them.

But now... I'm too happy to cry about the awful officiating!

I don't know much about the NHL suspension system but can he get suspended for a hit like that? I assume they will be more lenient in the playoffs.

"Could" but won't.

I was just reading the Calgary newspaper online and they seem to think it could be a suspension.

He did get a penalty for that hit.

Alright I saw at least 5 new posters that never posted in the Blackhawks' regular season thread.

For those of you who didn't watch/post during the regular season... how did you like playoff hockey? We're always looking for converts... the Hawks are going to be incredible for years to come... glad you guys watched!

How many of you honestly didn't watch more than 5 regular season games? It's all good, because we're glad to have you in the playoff thread!

I don't get WGN (I get WGN America, but not the WGN that show Hawks game) and .VS. rarely shows Hawks game down here in the Thrashers/Predators area of the country. So I usually have to follow the game thread here, on chicagoblackhawks.com or where ever I can find it. I think the LAST Hawks game I saw was the Winter Classic and that was because it was on NBC. If the Hawks were on tv more here in the South, I would definately watch more Hawks hockey.

Was there goalie interference on the last goal?

In the late 1990s/early 2000s, yes. Absolutely. But now, the way the rules are, you actually have to impact the goalie's ability to make the save. I don't think that happened. Keenan argued it, and I would too if I were in his shoes. But the shot went to the opposite side and Kiprusoff was not impeded by Ladd at all in leaking like a sieve.

As for Camallieri's antics, it was called. 2-minute minor. The call was high-sticking, so clearly the refs didn't actually see what happens. He needs to be suspended for that. I think 2-3 games is appropriate, at least. It was clearly dirty and a clear intent to injure. I'm all for hard, physical, even edgy play. But sucker punches? No. If Havlat wouldn't gotten seriously hurt, Camallieri would be done for the year and probably then some.

I am not picking a fight, but you guys are under selling Calgary. They are as good of a team as Chicago. Its not like they played above their heads last night.

Wait wut?

You mean to say "Iginla is as good as anyone on the Hawks" and "Kipper is better than Khabi and Huet" and "Regehr is a great defenceman".

"As good of a team" isn't the same as the Blackhawks looking like hot, nasty garbage for 52 minutes.

And without Regher and Sarich, they really aren't as good of a team as us.

Absolutely gotta love how Havlat didn't let that get to him, and goes on to get the game winner in OT.

In your face Camallieri :yahoo:

It's just really good to see Havlat paying the dividends we were hoping he'd pay when we signed him up a long time ago.

There were times when I wondered if he was ever going to get out from under injuries to contribute. Not anymore.

This is how the Blackhawks beat physical play.

Teams get so caught up in their physical reputation that they forget that the team that wins is the one that puts the puck in the net the most times.

If the Calgary defender had been a little more worried about clearing his goalie's view and a little less about being "physical" with Ladd, we might still be playing.

Iginla: 22 minutes of ice time, 3 shots, 0 points, -1

Jokinen: 19 minutes of ice time, 3 shots, 0 points, -1

Blackhawks win 34/56 faceoffs.

In conclusion:

Pahlsson was a coup for Tallon. Exactly what we needed.

I believe the Blackhawks are the better team and will prove it by beating Calgary. If, in the 2nd RD, they end up facing SJ, I don't expect the Blackhawks to win. But, that's OK because I believe all of this is setting up the next 5 or so years where I look for them to be one of the dominant teams in the Western Conference and overtake the Wings.
