I went looking over message boards from all the remaining teams. It would seem that the thing that the Canucks, Caps, Ducks, and Canes have in common is that the refs screwed them all last game.

Add Cyno onto that list and you're golden :-D

I really don't mean a lot of my comments... I always go back through during commercials and unfortunately realize I'm wrong when I cry about refs after I rewind my TiVo.

Oh well... these playoffs have been awesome!

it seems to be becoming the standard for losing. It is very inconceivable to imagine the other team is better that day I guess. My teams fans are just as guilty as everyone else

According to the nhl network Ward has a broken orbital bone from that sucker punch. That is a huge blow to the B's defense.

Wow. Walker is going to pay huge for that.

Watching that Boston game last night, their fans came off to me as giant hoosiers. St. Louis translation = hicks, hillbillies. Plenty of mullets in the seats, and did I mishear or do they play Ric Flair going "Woooooooooo!" after a goal is scored, and the fans echo it back?

Not too surprised, that was a huge punch.

Walker fined $2,500 no suspension. Think he'll have a target on his back tomorrow?

I saw on ESPN when I was at lunch that he was suspended.

ESPN covers hockey?

Here's the NHL.com story:

RALEIGH, NC -- Hurricanes forward Scott Walker has been fined $2,500 for an incident that occurred at the 17:13 mark of the third period of Game 5 against the Boston Bruins. There will be no additional punishment assessed.

"We are satisfied with the league's ruling," said Hurricanes President and General Manager Jim Rutherford. "After our team received several punches throughout the series leading up to Game 5, it was a matter of time before one was going to be thrown back."

"I accept the league's decision," said Walker. "Based on what was said on the ice as I was dropping my gloves, it was my understanding that I was engaged in an altercation."

I love that line.

If Carolina gets a 2 goal lead they better keep Walker off the ice...

OKay, again, What is the standard? At this rate Brashear should get a lawyer and sue the NHL. Whats it going to take, Crosby or Ovechkin to get a broken orbital bone for the league to get their heads out of their butts?

This is a copy and paste from what a poster put at letsgowings.com I think it states something very obvious.

Take a look at the guys who have done things in the playoffs so far that warranted suspensions or did something that was nearly identical as a guy who got a suspension, yet got off scott free.

Mike Cammalleri

Chris Kunitz

Scott Walker

Now the guys that have gotten suspended:

Colton Orr

Donald Brashear

Dan Carcillo

Notice something about those lists? Top 6 forwards versus bottom six tough guys. The way the NHL doles out suspensions essentially proves that they only have the balls to hand out suspensions when the player in question ISN'T an impact player.
