I agree, I dont even understand why they are so picky on this. Has there been an injury to a goalie that could have been prevented by blowing a quick whistle in that situation?

Unbelievably bad call by the ref at the end. You can talk about soft penalties and non-called penalties, but those still only affect powerplays. On this one the ref personally cost the Red Wings a tying goal with barely a minute to go. That they didn't/couldn't review a play like that is simply beyond belief.

 

Beyond that (and that's a pretty BIG "that"), the Ducks are playing the Red Wings like a grand piano. They are incredibly impressive and are just giving a showcase on how to play playoff hockey. Their tough defense and brilliant goaltender are just getting it done while Getzlaf is doing a fabulous impression of Mario Lemieux.

From what my Finn friends who are watching tell me... USA is getting outplayed by a lot and the USA goals were pretty soft besides one.

usa played really well the first 10 mins of the 3rd but now they are falling back again, and shorthanded. its not looking good.

Its going to be wierd actually having good goaltending in the olympics.
