I'm trying to figure out the logic of Bettman preferring old, floundering market Detroit in the finals over young team, flourishing fanbase Chicago. Can't do it.

Rematch of last year, Crosby's retribution.

Crosby in the finals, fine. Bettman would still much rather see the Hawks in the finals, I'm sure.

On a couple of Red Wings sites I have been to there is several threads with these main 2 themes

1. Detroit made it to the Finals in spite of Bettman trying to stop them

2. NHL moved Finals to start on Sat because Wings have injury problems to favor the Pens

I dont think any other sport has a fan base of just about every team thinking there is some sort of conspiracy to screw their team and help other teams

People seem to think the NBA is fixed.

Now that the Hawks are out of it :( , I prolly won't watch a minute of the Stanley. I'm don't need to see Crosby play (plus I am more of an AO fan then Crosby), and I will never watch the Red Wings play unless their playing the Hawks or perhaps the Capitals. Other then that, my hockey viewing is done till NHL draft/next season.

I'll watch if the series goes deep, or if I'm sitting around and there is nothing else on. But yeah, I'm pretty burned out and don't think I can watch hockey at this point without having a big rooting interest. Rooting against Detroit only takes me so far.

When the Red Wings have lost in the conference finals, I barely even paid attention to the finals. When they lose earlier in the playoffs, I usually take a round off and then get back into it. I certainly understand Hawks fans not wanting to watch the finals at this point.

I also didnt watch the WS in 2003

Should your Wings win the Cup I believe they ought to consider sending Brian Campbell a note of thanks. The Wings were going to win the series, no doubt, but, he sure made a little easier for them.

I am 10 for 14 so far in picking series. I missed the Anaheim over San Jose in the first round(though I was very cautious and predicted a very tight series) Philadelphia over the Penguins(7 games though)....Boston over Carolina(again, I predicted a tough series)....lastly I predicted Carolina to beat Pitt.

So I have only really just been dead wrong about 1 series. I have gone against Pitt twice and was wrong twice.

All that being said

I've been taking a lot of crap from Wings' die hard mother-in-law and sister-in-law about Kronwal' "clean" hit on Halvat, not only do I want to see the Penguins win. But, I'd like to see one of your diving Swedes get smeared in the process - cleanly of course.

Can't believe I;m saying this... LETS GO WINGS!

Bite your tongue.

The hate for Sidney Crosby is insane.

The Red Wings are like the Yankees of hockey, there's no excuse to root for them ever.

except that there's a salary cap and they still manage to be better than everybody.

Right. Pre-lockout they were REALLY the Yankees, now they're just better at managing salaries than everyone else, which is still annoying

They are the better team and I don't just hate Crosby, I hate the Penguins... all of them... except Malkin.

Bizarre hatred. They aren't even in the same conference as you team. Why root for the team with 87 Stanley Cups?

Sooner or later one of those Wings is going to get laid out by such a shot.

Hope it's Kronwall.
