that error should be on lee

Not a chance in hell. He reached at full arms length above his head and yeah he missed it, but a shortstop should not make that high of a throw.

It hit his glove and he didn't have to leave his feet. He needs to catch it.

It hit him in the glove he didnt have to jump or anything, thats on Lee. Definately wasnt a great throw, but its one Lee should catch.

Blah...I wonder if they tried to refine Rich's pitching style to pitch to contact more, because he hasn't seemed to miss many bats both in spring and today.

He's throwing faster but doesnt seem to have the command and poise that he used to have out there.

Of course I'll look like a moron when he strikes the next 3 guys out and cruises the rest of the game

what's the rule for sac bunts? it seems like hart was going for a hit there.

I think it's scorer's discretion, but unless it's absolutely positively without a doubt an attempt at a hit, they will reward a sacrifice.

That was what, the third time he showed bunt that at bat? He put it down on the right side then booked it to try to get a hit, but that wasn't his primary goal.

He would have had to leave his feet if he wanted to catch it, in which case the guy would have been safe and it would have been an error on Theriot. He probably thought it was going to keep coming down, since that's how Theriot's throws always move.

It tipped the top of the glove, uncatchable without a jump.

I don't think intent matters. If he bunts it and the funner moves up because of it, its a sac bunt.

The other day I saw Hanley Ramirez try to bunt for a hit with runners on first and second and 0 outs, and later I read the other games thread where people were wondering why he was given a sac bunt (without seeing the play and knowing he was trying to bunt for a hit)
