I honestly don't know if DLee's numbers last year would be considered above average. .823 OPS for a 1B? Maybe if you factor in D. But he was 15th out of 23 qualified 1B last year in OPS.
They don't call him DLee for nothing.

I watched the game and was into it last night but this is still what I'm most excited about.

Cubs > Bears

Root canal > Bears

As the public relations coordinator for root canal specialists, I shake my fist at you viciously.

I agree, but only on days like the Atlanta game last year.

Well their are 30 MLB teams. So that means that the other 7 teams didn't even have a 1B that was good enough or consistent enough to be eligible. So you could say 15 of 30. Which is about average, and when you throw in his defense, above average.

And as far as Lilly giving up so many home runs last night. His outing might look bad numbers wise, but it was pretty solid. He didn't walk anyone which is rule number one when it comes to having a big lead. The home runs were mostly all solo shots. I'm sure he would have loved to have not giving up so many home runs, and just base hits. But with that short porch in right, they went out. The main thing was he didn't put runners out via the walk, and then give up 3 run homers. He did his job, and won the game.

Theriot is really putting a charge into the ball. I like this way more than the slappy singles.

Yeah, if he can keep up this gap power, that would really help his productivity. I've been pleasantly surprised.

Indeed, I don't know where it came from but if he can split gaps once in a while that'd be amazing.

Never agree with a Packers fan.

Cubs taking walks.

LOTS of walks

Leading the league in walks.

We don't. Brewers, Dodgers, and have more. The Brewers and Dodgers also have played one more game than us though, but Cincy has one walk on us in the same number of games.

Who would have thought that one of Dusty's teams would be leading the league in walks per game while talking about hitters and not pitchers? Obviously an indicator of small sample size.

When I made that post a week ago the CUBS did lead the league in BB/Game played.

I'm excited about Teddy's last 2 outings. Too bad we wasted what he did last night.

If there wasn't a gale blowing in you wouldn't have been so excited, me thinks.

See, there you go blowing up all the positive vibes I'm trying to create.
