Tomorrow night, I'll be out in public with my Geovany Soto jersey on.

Unless, of course, my Jay Cutler jersey comes in tomorrow.

Oh, and an 18 game NFL season is something to get excited about.

I'm also very excited about the Cubs, but there are just too many things to list.

I have to try and not think about it for fear of being completely useless using my brain for anything else.

That sounds like it should be in the "I'm worried about..." thread.

But yeah, I'm right there with you.

Gooz looked pretty good in appearance #1.

Wasn't able to watch when he was pitching but that is good to hear.

i'm excited to see Fukudome fall behind with 2 strikes, work the AB for a walk, and not bail on the junk low and away.

Fuku, Gooz, and Patton all looked like competant major leaguers tonight. Lets hope it continues, these 3 could be major contributors to this teams success.

...getting bleacher seats when Lilly pitches.

Bullpen is looking solid. Patton has a nice offspeed pitch to go with a good fastball. Lotsa encouraging things in the first 3 games.

Fukudome.

Seriously. And not just because of tonight. I think he'll pull it together this year. Oh - and the rest of the team not named miles/gathright.

How about Kfuk today? 4-5?

I'll take that everyday from him.

.800 batting average with an .833 OBP? Yeah, i'll take that.

He better keep it up or he's going to be picking splinters out of his butt.

Yeah. If he drops below .500 we should bench him.

There isn't much I'm not excited about. Aaron Miles is junk, and I've resigned myself to the probability that DLee is going to settle in as a slightly above average 1B on the downslope of what has been a nice career. I see very nice upsides for everybody else in the lineup... and Hoffpauir is a nice bench bat, Gathright has excellent value if he's never allowed to pick up a bat, and Koyie Hill is... well, he's not Paul Bako.

I love our rotation, and I think Lou and Jimbo made all the right calls with the bullpen at the end of spring training. Patton has some real upside, Gooz is ridiculously filthy when healthy... and we can keep Shark starting at AAA til we need an injury replacement. Hell, I'm even excited at the thought that Vizcaino is the last man in the bullpen... he hasn't looked good since 2007, but he should still be quite a bit better than the last man in most other pens.

I honestly don't know if DLee's numbers last year would be considered above average. .823 OPS for a 1B? Maybe if you factor in D. But he was 15th out of 23 qualified 1B last year in OPS.
