Here's an ESPN link for the Gonzalez trade.

The Kansas City Chiefs have agreed to trade perennial Pro Bowl tight end Tony Gonzalez to the Atlanta Falcons for a second-round pick in the 2010 draft.

Good move for the Falcons, I think.

Yes, they lost 3 FAs this offseason (Foxworth, Boley, Brooking) and should get 3 comps picks and possibly 2 in the 3rd round. If they are good again, the pick will be in the 50s next year.

And acquiring Tony Gonzalez will go a long way to make sure they're good again next year.

Rejoice Andy! Jake Delhomme will be in Carolina for 5 more years.

After the worst game of Jake Delhomme's career came in an ugly playoff loss, the Carolina Panthers never wavered that he was still their quarterback for the long-term. On Thursday, they proved it, giving Delhomme a five-year, $42.5 million extension that keeps the 34-year-old under contract through the 2014 season.

$20 million of it is guaranteed.

YES! We could have had any of about 4 different promising QBs through the draft the last couple of years but now we have an aging Delhomme for 5 more!!!

My team is so smart about everything except the quarterback position. I swear to God they want to prove they can win without ever developing a highly touted quarterback. As it is we have virtually no chance of getting to the Super Bowl until Jake is replaced. I love the guy but he shouldn't still be here.

Two players will grace the cover of Madden this year.

For the first time in its storied -- some say cursed -- history, the cover of EA Sports' "Madden NFL" video game will feature two cover athletes: Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu and Arizona Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald.

Mental note: Avoid Larry Fitzgerald and Pittsburgh D in fantasy draft.

A heavy storm demolished the Cowboys' indoor practice facility yesterday. Special teams coach Joe DeCamillas suffered broken vertebrae and two other Cowboys personnel are injured. None of the rookies participating in the rookie camp were hurt.

The video of it is crazy.

I'm about 10 miles from Valley Ranch. The wind was blowing 50+ mph coming in from the north, then completely switched and was blowing straight from the south almost instantly. I was pretty much just waiting for the tornado sirens to start going off. It was pretty nasty.

And now brett farve apparently wants to play again! Big surprise! He wants to get revenge on Green Bay and is in talks with Minnesota. I'm not sure how good he is anymore but in a dome with that offense, he could be pretty tough.

Unless Favre has surgery on his torn bicep tendon, I don't think he'd be very effective.

I believe this quote is from the linked article but here it is from rotoworld:

According to the New York Daily News, one NFL source insists free agent Brett Favre "can't peacefully retire until he finds a way to get revenge on the Packers."

"Favre can't stand Green Bay," the source said. "He wants to play Green Bay and say, 'I told you so.' His bitterness is creating this. I think he's calling Minnesota. I think Minnesota is talking about this as we speak. You haven't heard the end of Favre. No way. He is bionic. As long as somebody will let him in, he will play." May. 3 - 12:20 pm et

I have a really hard time believing that would be his reasoning.

After the the circus last season, what is so hard to believe about Brett Favre harboring such feelings of resentment toward the Packers? From beat reporters that follow the Packers the word is Favre has despised Ted Thompson ever since Aaron Rodgers was drafted in the first round of the 2005 NFL Draft. All of this animosity became quite clear after Favre unretired, even though the Packers moved on with Rodgers.

Since things didn't go exactly to plan last season it appears that he wants another chance, this time with rumors swirling that he is talking to Minnesota. Favre is a god for some people in Wisconsin, and he would tarnish his legacy permanently if he chose to sign with Minnesota. Why would any rational person choose to do something like that? The truth is they wouldn't. Favre's feelings of bitterness are so strong that he's willing to throw away everything just to have another chance to prove to the world that Ted Thompson made a mistake with choosing Aaron Rodgers to be Green Bay's quarterback of the future. Just like Flames said, Favre's reasoning should not be surprising.

If that's the case, I hope he signs with the Vikings and loses both games to GB in blowouts on the way to securing the single season INT record.

Its like Jim Edmonds signing with the Cubs.

Except a whole lot funnier.
