TANK JOHNSON BITCHES

You can't be too far from the all-felon team at this point, right? When do you guys get Plax?

Bengals DB Leon Hall was arrested this morning for DUI. He willing admitted to drinking when he was pulled over, and blew a .149 on the breathalyzer.

The Colts have re-signed Tyjuan Hagler.

Good move by them, in my opinion.

surprised he didn't get more interest.

He's the kind of player who will really only fit in a largely Cover 2 defense - primarily one primed significantly to speed over size.

He's giving up 2-3 inches on most (non Cover 2) teams' starters. At 6-feet even, though, he's as tall as all but two Colt LBs (Adam Seward and Phillip Wheeler are both 6'2").

Yeah, but there are enough cover 2 teams out there. Did Tampa ever replace Brooks?

It'd only be the heavily cover 2 teams who would have interest in him (Bears, Bucs, Colts primarily), though I heard the Texans brought him in for a visit. Not sure exactly what they're going to run since (I believe) they have a new defensive coordinator.

The Bucs added Angelo Crowell and Niko Koutovides to their linebacking corps so far. Niko likely isn't an upgrade over Hagler, but Crowell is. They also seem high on Quincy Black at the other OLB spot.

The NFL has decided to expand the number of players invited to the draft up to 10. They used to invite 6.

Sanchez's USC teammate, linebacker Brian Cushing, is among the players who have accepted invitations. Two other projected first-round quarterbacks, Matthew Stafford of Georgia and Josh Freeman of Kansas State, will attend the draft.

Wake Forest linebacker Aaron Curry, Texas Tech wide receiver Michael Crabtree, Virginia offensive tackle Eugene Monroe, Ole Miss offensive tackle Michael Oher, Texas defensive end Brian Orakpo and Baylor offensive tackle Jason Smith are also expected in New York.

USC quarterback Mark Sanchez has decided not to be among them

I've also heard mentions from Charley Casserley and Mike Mayock that some teams are interested in shifting DT Jarron Gilbert over to OT.

The Green Bay Packers tried out a backup QB yesterday....GREG PAULUS! Yes the same Greg Paulus that played basketball for Duke University...Supposedly he was a highly recruited QB in high school, and turned down an offer from Notre Dame.

That's awesome, but I cannot imagine anything would come out of that.

I don't see how Paulus can make it in the NFL as a QB, he's like what 5'10''? Maybe the Packers need a cheerleader because that's all he's good for.

I don't think there's any way he gets drafted - especially by the Packers, who's third string QB (Matt Mauck) is probably better than Paulus right now.

He could potentially latch on to a practice squad somewhere, though, and develop into a backup.

6'1", but that is still short and hasn't played competitive football in four years and never above high school.

I'm sorry, but Josh Freeman shouldn't be drafted that high - by anyone.

Paulus was a 5 Star recruit coming out of HS so hes got/had talent. He could of played both sports at a program if he would of accepted the football scholarship(Miami and ND i think), instead he took the Duke scholarship and in essence shut the door of playing football. Strange decision if you ask me. Maybe he can go to the CFL or something.

I don't think it's that strange of a decision. From what I've heard (basically entirely on this board) he's not going to the NBA, so why not give football a shot. Like you said, he could always head up to the CFL for a year or two to earn an NFL backup spot.

He'll go somewhere in the first round, and I think that's fine. He'll probably be one of the last players to leave the green room, though.

Matt Mauck? He's nothing more than just roster fodder. Flynn and Brohm are our backups.

More than anything, I just think this displays the lack of confidence in them as backups from management and for good reason. They were both horrendous last season. If we're looking for a backup quarterback, just do the inevitable and sign someone like Gus Frerotte or the guy that I want, Rex.

Where in the world did I get Mauck from? Sorry about that, I meant Matt Flynn.

I think Brohm will develop into a solid backup at some point, but it might be a good idea to bring in a veteran like Frerotte.

There are multiple players with more talent than Josh Freeman. Some may not be as good of a fit, but there are better backups out there who have "proven" themselves and will always be better than Josh Freeman.
