has anyone noticed what eastern michigan did their last two games? they lost to temple 55-52, then beat central michigan 56-52. their quarterback was 50-76 for 484 yards against temple, then 58-80 for 516 yards and 5 td's against central. one of their receivers had 40 catches in the 2 games. it's like they suddenly decided "screw it, we're a boring minor-conference team and our coach is getting canned, let's just do something crazy."

That's pretty awesome. No way they beat CMU otherwise, though.

I really hope Matthew Stafford and Knowshon Moreno leave for the NFL early. Both are likely to be first round picks (and with the dearth of good QBs in this draft, Stafford could be a top 10 pick).

You won't see a BSUx2 game because Ball St. won't agree to play Boise St. in Boise.
It wouldn't necessarily be in Boise. It could be in Shreveport (Independence Bowl) or Detroit (Motor City Bowl). Both of those are neutral sites which could have a BSU vs. BSU matchup if the pieces fall into place.

they said during the Boise St. game that Boise St. would rather play TCU on a neutral field than BSU on a neutral field. They said they would only play BSU at home, and the Cardinals have said no way

since when does boise st get to dictate who they play and what field they play on?

As the WAC champion Boise State's automatic bid is to the Humanitarian Bowl. They'd have no say who their opponent is in that game, but they have total control over whether they play in another bowl as an at-large bid instead. If they don't like the location or opponent they could simply refuse the invitation and take their automatic invitation to the Humanitarian Bowl instead. Then it would be up to Ball State to decide whether they're willing to consider their position (which I think they might if they're shown enough green). Bottom line is both schools have complete control over whether they accept an alternative bid rather than their automatic bid as a conference champion.

This weather in Tallahassee scares me.

Don't worry, Tim Tebow can change the weather.

Tebow made a NFL FB block to spring a run for Harvin for a TD.

What channel is this game on?

Sylvester Croom has officially resigned from the Miss St head coaching job.

He had good defenses most of his tenure there, but his offenses were utterly horrific.

Stinks. I was enjoying watching State stink under him. Question now becomes who are they gonna get. Any SEC head coaching spot is highly coveted.

I doubt this happens, but I wonder what kind of interest Phil Fulmer would have in that job (and likewise, what kind of interest MSU would have in Phil).

This morning on Volquest, someone wrote "Take it to the bank... Fulmer will be coaching Miss St next year. Book it." 6 hours later, Croom is out. TIFWIW.

A little unpacking of the names. Yogi Roth is on Pete Carroll's staff at USC right now, though I'm not entirely sure what he does. I think he's still got a Grad title, and his responsibility is breaking down film, but Carroll is high on him, so there are some who feel that this would be a move to get an up-and-comer. Honestly, I'd prefer to keep Scott (or have Trooper back), but Roth's name has been linkes to the WR/TE position at UT.

Bill Callahan is still thought to be a pretty good offensive mind, but I do not want him anywhere near the program. We would almost certainly see the West Coast Offense at UT if Callahan is on the staff.

Art Kehoe was the OL coach at Ole Miss under Orgeron. Other than bring in Michael Oher, I'm not sure what Kehoe is like (perhaps OMC could answer that...) but I agree with you.. I don't think I want him anywhere near this program. Not sure that cast-offs from a pitiful Ole Miss program are the way to get UT back to the top of the SEC. (The only reason I feel any differently about Orgeron is because he would not be a head coach, and strictly a position coach here.)
