I only saw that final drive and I know Orton got hurt but that's an embarrassing result. Thank goodness they managed to win.

Looked like Orton broke his ankle on the replay? Am I the only one who thinks that?

I thought broken ankle or torn ligaments

I'm a Rex homer but I thought he looked decent considering the rust. The things he's usually bad at he seemed to do well... but his downfield accuracy, his biggest strength, just wasn't there.

Not sure what to make of that last part.. hopefully just rust, because it looks like he'll be starting the rest of the way, IMO.

I think the bet's a push. Rex was really rusty, as you could tell by some throws he'd usually make which were way off.

But he didn't kill them, and produced all 14 points.

Forte won the game, though.

It looked like Payne got hurt on that final Hail Mary.....Let's hope it's not serious.

As far as Orton, I would be shocked if he's not done for the year. That looked really ugly.

Also, thank god we didn't lose.

That was way too effin' close.

That'll happen when you play how we did in the first half

My dad says he heard on the radio that Orton may yet return this year, and that his ankle is not broken.

The way his ankle bent...a break isn't what you look for. It's ligament damage.

Hopefully Rex will look a lot better next week. I mean, I'm happy with his performance under the circumstances but it is striking that he appears not to have corrected the major flaw that lost him his job in the first place.

Glad next week is a home game. And the Titans certainly appear beatable, but man. I'm afraid of Chris Johnson and Lendale White.

Not that worried about the Titans run game, honestly. More worried about their D-line vs. the Bears OL. Assuming Grossman is the QB next week, the Titans will dare him to throw the ball. They'll put 8 in the box and shutdown the run game. They'll also be able to get pressure and rattle Rex. Their DBs are very opportunistic and are ballhawks.

We'll get blown to bits by the Titans playing like this.

Yes. But a couple of the Bears best performances came against "supposedly" two of the NFL's best teams in Indy and Philly. So, I expect the Bears to play well against the Titans. Beating them....they can, but it will be a team effort.

I don't think today's result is anything to get upset about. Good teams - Super Bowl teams - have games like this during a 16 game season.

I think next week is very important, however. Lots of road games coming up thereafter, and we still have two games with the Pack. That said, probably will need 10 wins to get in the playoffs, so its not like you have to go undefeated. If they go 5-3 again they should at least get a w/c.

Orton will be fine. Comcast and other sources are saying its not as bad as it looked. I highly doubt he'll play next week, but its probably a 2-4 week injury.

I'll tell you, its nice to be freaking out that our QB is injured instead of just saying 'meh, on to the next one'

I agree. The Bears aren't really a good team though, so that's why I don't mind the win that way. They are good enough, though, to be a playoff team and I don't think it'll take 10 wins. Vikings and Packers are both 4-4. Bears already beat the Vikes. Minnesota still has to play two of the teams that beat the Bears (TB/ATL) and the Giants. Including the games vs. each other, the Bears and GB has 6 of the final 8 against the same teams. GB gets Detroit and Carolina, Bears have Tenn and the Rams. Assuming the Pack doesn't sweep the Bears, the only way they win the division is if they finish a game ahead or they tie but beat the Vikes and the Bears lose to them.

The Bears look like the Lions last year. Good enough to get out to a 6-2 start (and for all intents they should be 6-2 or 7-1), but bad enough to collapse and finish 1-7. Let's hope that's not the case.

4 weeks, would have him miss Tennessee, Green Bay, St. Louis, and Minnesota. That has the potential of a 1-3 stretch without him. Also, tough enough stretch that if Grossman can play well enough he can create a QB controversy.

I think this club is heading for a losing streak. Sorry, but I have to be honest here. They aren't playing well.....and that was with Orton.
