Hopefully Rex will look a lot better next week. I mean, I'm happy with his performance under the circumstances but it is striking that he appears not to have corrected the major flaw that lost him his job in the first place.

Glad next week is a home game. And the Titans certainly appear beatable, but man. I'm afraid of Chris Johnson and Lendale White.

What would the major flaw be? I noticed him stepping up in the pocket and didn't see him make any bad decisions, which are the two biggest knocks on him. The other major knock being his height/mobility. Not sure he can do anything about those. Now, I'm not saying I believe he has eliminated either of those problems, but I didn't see him do either of those things today so I'm just trying to see what it appears that he hasn't corrected.... *shrug*

If anything, it was his biggest strength which was a no-show in today's game (downfield accuracy).

He still doesn't plant his feet when he throws. I saw more than one pass where he was in the pocket, under minimal pressure, and threw with his body open and both his legs facing downfield instead of his leading shoulder downfield.

Could this possibly be a misdirection by the Bears? I mean I understand he was injuried, and he could miss a month, but Olbermann on the halftime show said there was a report that said Orton was driving himself home tonight. Which leads me to believe that maybe the injury isn't as bad as some are thinking. I am not going to believe he is out 2-4 weeks until I see him miss the game against Tennessee.

Yes, I was talking about his happy feet and lack of calm and patience in the pocket. There were several awful throws downfield today. At the feet of receivers, overthrows. Things that can be traced back to the same bad mechanics.

I'll say it again: I've always been a fan of Rex and liked his ceiling better than Orton's. I might actually be able to dust off the Grossman jersey for the St. Louis game in a couple of weeks. Last time I did that the Bears were riding high on MNF two years ago. I hope it was just rust today. Against a better team a lot of those throws will be interceptions.

Let's assume for forseeible future that Orton is out for the month. With that said, I expect the depth chart for the Bears at the QB for awhile will be Grossman/Heinie/and I assume Booker. With that said, the Bears have NO QBs on their practice squads, so the question is: Should the Bears sign a QB for the Practice Squad?

Probably. They probably shoulda had one on the practice squad before the injury, though. On the off chance that both Grossman and Hanie get hurt next week, it will be just as easy to bring in a guy like Chris Simms on Monday and give him a full week in the offense. If they both get hurt a couple weeks down the line, and they are worse off than Orton, just bring Orton back at less than 100%.

what was up with that turf? It was embarrassing.

Damn park district and their soccer games! :x

what soccer games are playing in Soldier Field nowadays? The Fire used to ruin the field, but they are gone.

Chris Simms is on the Titans active roster.

If the Bears lose this game and Grossman is poor, Orton will be back by the Packers game.
