Eh, I DO really live close and I've only been to 3 games so far this year. I'll be going to a couple this weekend, but the motivation just really isn't there. Maybe once the weather stays consistently nice...

I've sold 8 pairs so far, but the rest I'll take a big bath on.

So I priced my tickets for May & June on the lower end and they have been selling like hotcakes the last few days. StubHub has a new feature that allows you to see what tickets have sold for & what they are listed for per each individual game. I used that info to price my tickets near the lower end and that has worked well. Almost too well it seems as I only have 1 May game and 3 June games left. Of course I'm taking a loss on every game but it's better than not selling them at all. I priced July's tickets much closer to face value. I will adjust them down if needed but several of those games didn't have many bleacher tickets listed right now.

I had something work-related come up so I have two tickets available for tomorrow Sox/Cubs game. PM me if you're interested; if you set up a Tickets.com account I can transfer them over after a sale.

Are any season ticket holders going to this "Family Day" event over the next couple days? I have tickets, not sure what to expect.

And yes, this is my first post... Been reading this board for way too long without ever posting. My season ticket number came up this winter, so I'm in Chicago for the summer to enjoy what I can.

I'm going on Saturday with my dad for Father's Day. I've been on a Wrigley tour, but that was awhile ago; this doesn't sound very different: tour the guts of the stadium, get to go on the field, apparently play a little catch. Sounds like a fun way to spend the afternoon.

Is there any other section on the site for selling or trading tickets? Anyways, I have 4 tickets to the Cubs vs Sox makeup game on July 8th...Hard tickets W/ Parking pass...I am looking to sell all 4 or sell them in sets of 2...They're really good seats in the lower infied behind dugout view, secton 129, row 29...I am selling them at face value at 100.00 a piece. This game is NOT at Wrigley..It's US Cellular field..So if your in Chicago and wanna go support our team on the south side let me know. I have 4 tickets available..

Yea I know the game being at the cell block is going to be a big turn off...I got these from someone so figured someone might wanna go if they don't mind that venue and atmosphere. Just trying to cash in on a couple tickets.

At some point in the last few weeks they updated the season ticket wait list. I moved up 31500 spots.
Posted

That is quite a jump. I have to imagine many people chose not to buy last offseason when their names were called.

It was a tough decision for me, but I decided to give it a shot. I have been to two games, that is it. That is more due to me not living in the Chicago area though.

I have made back about 70% of my investment. Not sure how others are doing, but I was fearful that I wouldn't even get that much back. Fingers crossed the team improves and at bare minimum I start breaking even by 2015.

Wow. At that rate, the Cubs could realistically burn through the entire waiting list within the next couple years if the team doesn't improve significantly.

Holy Hell, how did you pull that off? I'm impressed/jealous.

I'm not really sure to be honest with you. Stubhub has been my main outlet, but not getting face value for the vast majority of those games. I typically end up pricing them near, or at the lowest price for my section. I have only had three games that I haven't sold. Having said that, some games may sell for 40-50% of combined face value. I try to just tell myself it is better than nothing.

I was in town for one of the games against the Angels and tried selling a few games to the scampers outside by the El. They didn't really want go give me anything, and these were for Cardinals games. One guy offered me $30 total for the Thursday and Sunday game against the Cardinals. They both ended up selling on Stubhub for close to face value.

I have sold a handful of games to some trusting people on Craigslist for face value earlier in the year.

Man, good on you for being able to do that. I've had mine on StubHub as well and the face value usually hovers around $45-$60 each and it's a rare day when I can get $20 each.

I just realized that a few hundred dollars of my return was due to some NCAA Regional tickets I was able to sell. So that 70% is not all Cubs tickets. Where are your seats? Mine are in Section 202.

Hoping to have a decent August, but it has been slow lately. I doubt I'll have much luck in September.

Hmm, still at 65289. When I signed up I was hoping I would come up right around 2015, but it's not looking good. If the Cubs get competitive before then it could be a long long wait.

Yeah I've only been able to get about 55% of what paid for the ticket up to this point on the tickets I've tried to sell. And so far I've only had 3 tickets go unsold. Stubhub is whats killing me. Their cut of over 25% is insane.

got my call today. I think i'm gonna get em and try to get a few people together to buy blocks (i already know of 2 guys that would be in). Any advice or "dont do it's" from you ST holders around here? I live in Central Illinois so i know i can only make 20 at absolutely MOST but having my own ST has been a lifelong dream. Now seems the time to get in.

I read somewhere that they are offering prospective STO's 4 tickets to the final homestand of the year for free to evaluate seats. Anyone get that? I'm way too lazy to check the last couple pages of this thread to see if this has been going on all year or not.

Yeah, I made back a decent amount on Pearl Jam(though not nearly as much as I could've) and I'll still be coming in around 50-55% return on the bleachers.

ETA: Though I'm not figuring the half dozen or so games I've gone to.
