...literally. In the McCain-Obama debate spoof on SNL, both "candidates" made fun of the Cubs after Bill Murray asked them a question. Our team is a joke...again. Awesome.

Who cares.

The mass media is obsessed with the Cubs losing ways. It's kind of flattering really. Would you rather be ignored altogether like they do with most other MLB teams?

The Cubs have huge following and are probably going to be in a great position to win for at least the next few years. We're on the right track.

what the hell, the weekend sure got here quickly.

Ya, I guess from now until the election, SNL is going to run a politically charged 30 minutes after the Office. I'm sure the actual Saturday night show will suck even more because of it.

I thought it was pretty darn funny myself. There was a bit on The Daily Show the night before on the Cubs that was pretty rough, too. It starts around the 6 minute mark.

At least the Cubs are relevant enough to get a few jabs.

See, the Daily Show jab was funny because it was unexpected. The SNL stuff, like most SNL stuff now, wasn't because it was set up way too overtly.

It was funny. The McCain impression was incredible.

And the Obama impression was horrendous. The next funny thing Fred Armisen does will be his first.

Me scusi me scusi ...

i saw the obama impersonation from the first debate and i thought it was quite spot on and very funny

This is the first time I've watched a new SNL and thought to myself "this is really funny."

As soon as you saw it was Bill Murray, you knew it was going to be about the Cubs. It was funny. If I couldn't have a sense of humor about the Cubs, I don't know how I could put up with being a Cubs fan.

Oh, and Fred Armisen is about the only good thing about SNL. His Obama is spot on. And Obama and McCain wandering around between Brokaw and the camera was hilarious.

fred armisen's obama is terrible. if they didn't say "HEY THIS GUY IS DOING OBAMA" no one would have any clue

I agree. I think it is probably the worst political impression they've ever done. I don't even think he has his cadence or mannerisms down. But, others disagree, so he must be doing something right (though I don't see it).

I thought the bit was very funny (including the Cubs part). Bill Murray being part of made it seem fun and not mean spirited. I thought the look on his face when they were saying the Cubs would never win was priceless.

Fixed.

I don't think Fred Armisen has ever made me even crack a smile when he's been onscreen. He's probably the least funny SNL cast member I can ever remember, and that's saying something.
