I love rewritten history. Reinsdorf sucks, Krause was a douche.....seems like they lucked into 6 rings in the 90's

They did luck into a certain player.....

so did Cleveland. how many rings have they won?

Are you assuming Lebron = Jordan?

Put a player the quality of Scottie Pippen at LeBron's side, and you're likely to see him win multiple rings.

LeBron has probably been the most obvious #1 overall pick since Jordan, yes

Ironic that there was an obvious #1 overall pick in Jordan's draft and he wasn't it.

I'm convinced that enventually Jordan would have manage to win multiple rings regardless of who Tubby surronded him with...even so, if they did manage to put some good pieces around Jordan, they are also responsible for breaking up the dynasty because of their fragile ego's.

It's not rewritten history unless you weren't paying attention to the behind the scenes rubbish during the second three peat.

not to mention this organization has been a complete joke since June of 1998 despite sitting on a gold mine of financial resources brought it by the Jordan Era.

+ incredible fan support despite disappointing results.

+ incredibly restrictive salary structures built into the cap

+ Krause being a dick and no free agents (ie McGrady, Duncan, etc.) wanting to play for him

FWIW, Bigbird at OH.com is saying that Roberts to the Bulls for the number 1 pick and Luol Deng is a done deal.

lmao, I had to think about that for a second...I saw Ohio and was thinking the Cav's...how about Lebron to the Bulls for the #1 pick and Deng..hell why not, they are losing Lebron to Jay Z in a few years anyways.

To me, this is an interesting admission by Jerry:

"While Doug was following our coaching search, he knew it didn't seem to be going very well," Reinsdorf said. "Because of his friendship for John and me, he felt he needed to reach out and help us. That's why we started to talk."

So they recognize it's not going well. I certainly hope they've got a plan to make it go well. And hopefully soon.

OK, now this is getting embarassing. Vinny Del Negro is the supposed leader? When I went to bed last night it was Chuck Person, who at the least has been an assistant coach for a few years with the Kings. Del Negro has been in the Suns' front office for the last couple of years but never has sat on a bench, to the best of my knowledge.

but but but they want a name that resonates with the fans! you'd think that after all of this time searching and interviewing, attempting to find a big name coach whose name "resonates" with the fans, that they would have hired batman or something.

vinny del negro? chuck person? tyrone corbin?

might as well have just stuck with doug collins if they wanted a big name guy. in truth, what the bulls want is someone cheap.

Del Negro was considered for the Suns job, if I am not mistaken.

(Don't confuse that with me approving it. I don't mind a coach who has never head coached before, but I'd prefer some assistant coach experience.)

That's a must, unless we're talking about some kind of extremely extenuating circumstance. Maybe if the candidate is some hotshot from Europe, or something like that. At least give me someone with some indication that he's been in a court-side leadership role before, and shown some promise. This is the NBA, I don't think it's too much to expect someone with some kind of accomplishment in the area of coaching.

Let Del Negro cut his teeth somewhere for a couple years -- heck, hire him as an assistant and find out if he's cut out for coaching. But head coach right away sight unseen? That's stark raving madness. Even if he succeeded it would *STILL* be stark raving madness.

BTW, the ESPN article says Del Negro didn't even make the finalists for the Phoenix job:

Yet Del Negro didn't make the list of four finalists in Phoenix, with Kerr making it clear that he wants to hire someone with more experience. Coaching sources have maintained for days the Suns will hire Detroit Pistons assistant coach Terry Porter -- formerly the head coach in Milwaukee -- to replace D'Antoni.

Porter did land that job.
