oh well, it's for the best

How is it for the best? So we can pick Chase Budinger next June? Yay?

at least we have a shot at getting somebody good. it worked out pretty well last year. what is the upside of winning at this point? what chance is there of something good coming out of it? sneaking in the playoffs and getting embarrassed by boston/cleveland/orlando? sounds fun.

Well I wouldn't count on making a huge move in the lottery. Last year was an aberration, obviously.

I'd rather make it as a low seed and get waxed by a powerhouse then draft at the bottom of the lottery. At least Rose would get a taste of playoff basketball.

And you never know. Golden State won as an 8th seed and the Hawks took Boston 7 last year.

I guess that's where we differ. I'm interested in winning a championship or at least going deep into the playoffs and having something to get excited for. That team is going to offer neither or those things this year. I mean, how fun were the playoffs for the Cubs the last 2 years?

I'm not saying they'd luck out into a top pick.... they wouldn't have to. Any lottery pick would bring us closer to winning a championship than a meaningless playoff appearance.

Chicago Bulls, Miami Heat, Detroit Pistons and Portland Trail Blazers

Not to sound like a complete homer, but I really think we could offer the best package.

Miami's offer would obviously would center around Beasley who is more hype than anything else. I think it is clear he is a 3 in this league partly because he doesn't have the desire to play like a 4...if so you have a pretty average player at that position.

Portland's offer would begin with Lemarcus Aldridge, I'm assuming. You know what also would begin with Lemarcus Aldridge? The answer to "Who is the most overrated player in the NBA"? I can see why now Pax passed on this soft turd. He is a tall guy with a good jumper that can't rebound. Gee those are tough to find.

Not quite sure what Detroit could offer them, maybe Stuckey? But one could argue the Bulls have a similiar young emerging talent in Tyrus Thomas.

and besides Kerr owes us...we made that crappy little white guy famous during the 90's..now he is a GM in the NBA with the opportunity to run a team right into the ground...so hook us up.

Well McHale did "take one for the team" when he gave KG to Boston.....maybe Kerr, Bulls? Yeah, I don't think so.

i have no idea what of worth detroit has... they traded billups so they could play stuckey, he's not going anywhere.

umm...that Al Jefferson guy is pretty good.

Al Jefferson is all T'Wolves got. Everybody else was spare parts.

Al Jefferson is a more valuable player at this point vs Garnett. The fact that Ainge and McHale are friends I'm sure helped facilliate the deal, but it was far from some lopsided exchange.

Prolly, but maybe a handful of teams would take Jefferson over KG right now. KG still have alot of game left in his body. Thus, IMO, he's more valuable to a team like Boston then Jefferson is to Minnesota. With KG, Boston is a average team. With Jefferson, there's not that big of a drop off.

You make it seem like the Bulls don't get a draft pick if they make the playoffs. If they squeeze in as a low seed the pick will only be marginally higher than what they would get as a playoff team.

36 pts and 22 Rebounds?!?! That is an incredible line, and he absolutely destroyed the Bulls this month.

Bit distracted with my nephew. What I am saying is Jefferson is not more valuable then KG right now. In the next yr or so, yeah he will be more valuable, but right now no.

Edit: I just notice what Jefferson is doing, and yes you can make a case that Jefferson is more valuable, but I still maintain there is more to being valuable then stats. And while Jefferson is arguably the better player now, he's prolly not as valuable just yet. Come back and ask that question at the end of the season.

I'm not talking about a speicific threshold that I want them to avoid. Making the playoffs was just an example of the best case scenario for this season and the most we could realistically hope. Obviously if it was between he 8 seed and 9 seed I'd choose the 8 seed. I'm saying I'd rather tank at this point than play like .500. If we're gonna suck, let's at least maximize what we get for sucking.

Are you serious?

Beasley is hype? He's averaging 14 ppg in his first year in the league and almost 6 rebounds a game playing only 24 minutes a game.

Aldridge is averaging 18 and 7 a night, and he's overrated for a 30-19 Portland Team (2nd leading scorer behind Roy).

The Heat will not offer Michael Beasley for Amare that would be idiotic. Beasley could be just as good as Amare in the next few years.

I don't see the Blazers making a move for Amare either.

Not only did it help facilitate the deal, but it was pretty widely reported that McHale passed up better offers for KG to get him to Boston. Naturally, Celts fans spent three months pissing and moaning when the Lakers got a similar lucky break with Gasol.

I really hate Boston sports fans, by the way.

There's no way the Heat are in on Amare. That is out of nowhere.

1) They aren't going to trade Beasley. That would be [expletive].

2) The reason Marion demanded a trade is because he and Amare hate each other and Marion wanted to make more than him.

3) Boozer is said to be opting out after the yr, and it's no secret that Boozer likes Miami and vice versa.

What does it say for Beasley that he is can't beat out Udonis Haslem for job? And Yes Alridge sucks. Just because the team lists him as their Power Foward, doesn't make him a power foward. Hey, I could call Deng a four and then his stats look pretty damn good.
