i'd say developing Noah and Thomas into quality starters in the front court would be more vital than securing a decent draft pick. and as of late, they're both actually showing improvements.

4 double-doubles in the last 5 games for TT (and he was 1 rebound shy of 5 in his last 6 games). Not bad.

I think for the rest of TT career we are going to here every few weeks "man he has been playing good lately"....Then for another few weeks we will here nothing....He is so so frustrating.

The Suns have made Amar'e available for a trade.

See this already 30 page long thread on RealGM:

Let me tell you, I was at the Bulls game here last Saturday and he was non-existent. I've never seen a less interested basketball player.

I'd love him on the Bulls, but he has some major, major flaws in his game. No d and we still don't have a center. He also takes minutes from Tyrus.

Chances are Thomas would have to go to PHX for Stoudemire. While Thomas may not be the offensive force Amare was and could be, but at least Thomas can rebound, block shots, and at times show a great ability to steal. And seeing Thomas starting to "get it" as a player, if the Bulls were to trade him, I much rather have Chris Bosh.

I'm pleased with Thomas right now too but he is far from the point where he should be considered a stumbling block in a potential Amare deal.

This.

Remember what most of you people were saying when Deng and players for Kobe was being bantered.

I'm not saying he should be a deal breaker, I said I wouldn't trade him for Amare Stoudemire. While T2 isn't Amare offensively, the same can be said about Amare not being T2 defensively. In fact defensively, Amare is Eddy Curry esque. For a team that really can't play defense, I prefer not to trade the one guy who can actually defend, rebound, and block shots. Gimme a better option then Amare and I would approve (not that my approval means a thing) of moving Thomas.

Is anybody else thinking that now could be a good time to get rid of Kirk to a team like Orlando? I think he'd be an excellent fit there filling in for Jameer and could still play the 2 if Jameer were to come back this season.

I dunno, just feels like a natural fit out there...

Yeah that's exactly what I thought when Nelson went down. Hinrich would be an excellent fit on the Magic.

Then they trade Bogans for Lue today, so I don't know what they're going to do. On another note, Dallas looks really awful tonight. Deron and Millsap are doing whatever they feel like doing.

depends on what you want out of this season. the team is clearly much better when Hinrich is on the floor. if you trade him, you're probably back to the "stand around then shoot a contested 18 footer" offense that we saw when he was hurt

It might clearly be better, but is it going to win a championship this year? No. If we don't trade Hinrich, we ignore our biggest trade chip and don't improve the team. I mean the Suns are clearly better with Amare on the floor. Why are they trading him? Because they feel long term they can be in a better position. This Bulls team is not built to win short-term, so as far as I'm concerned, anyone but Rose is available.

i'm more inclined to say we're better because gooden isn't around (and, along with that, noah and thomas are playing much better) than because hinrich is around.

I tend to agree with you, just making it clear what the rest of the year looks like without Hinrich (unwatchable basketball)

where is this notion that hinrich is the reason for the team's resurgence coming from? he's the primary backup guard playing like 20-25 minutes a game.

deng's much improved play as well as thomas's and noah's (to some extent) have a lot more to do with it. i only mention noah because basically having anybody but gooden guarding bigs has helped a ton, IMO.

the notion is just an observation of the team with him on the court vs. off. when he's out there, he directs traffic better and distributes the ball well. he's pretty good at driving and dishing. I feel like the other players tend to stand around when Rose is running the point.

I'm telling you, the "Deng is a deal breaker in a Kobe deal" from last season are much, much funnier.

I think the context of that was that Kobe wouldn't accept a trade that involved Deng going to LA. The reports were that he wanted to play with him. Would I have preferred to have kept Deng around while getting Kobe for a package of Hinrich/Gordon/Noah/TT/whatever... absolutely. But if we absolutely had to I think most would've been fine with giving him up.

Agree with you on this one...I think it was because he wanted to play with him...But the TT compared to Amare is just ridiculous come man. Amare is like top 8 players in the league
