Oh, and Bama's getting screwed at 4. Should be 2 (or even 1).

Its all so subjective right now its hard to really say any of the top 6 are getting screwed, plus it doesn't really matter. It will even itself out over the next 4 weeks. If USC or OSU make the title game ahead of any 1 loss SEC or Big 12 team then we can all talk about someone getting screwed :-).

The Big 12 South is looking really brutal, add in Mizzou and there are 5 legit teams that can win every week with their offenses.

How times have changed. How many years can you say that a 4-1 Notre Dame team only got 11 votes?

Impossible, for the 4th week this year I've been told how stupid Notre Dame is going to unfairly be a top 15 team because they're Notre Dame.

As is usually the case, the AP poll makes a lot more sense than the coaches, but Pitt does not belong in the top 25 and neither does Wake. It'd be nice if Auburn won something to have that top 25 spot, but there are only so many good teams out there.

I agree it doesn't matter, but I do think Bama has made a much stronger case than anyone for one of the top two slots. It's not really worth arguing about, though, since if they keep winning they'll get where they need to be in the end.

And yeah, the Big 12 South is looking rough. But I still think UT and OU are a class above the other two good teams in the south. Don't get me wrong; I wouldn't relish having to play TT and OSU, but they're not as good as UT and OU.

As far as Mizzou goes, that offense is just absurd. If you're not getting a GOOD push from the front four, you're not going to win, unless you can match them point for point (unlikely.) That's why I'd say only UT and OU have a legit shot at toppling them in the Big XII.

Notre Dame is usually playing really good teams early in the season (or teams people think at the time are really good), so normally being 4-1 is something of a feat. This year their best win is over Michigan, and they don't have a road win. That's why they're not getting votes. Not that difficult to figure.

Ridiculous that U of I isnt ranked ahead of some of those teams. Illinois has 2 losses both to top 10 teams, and were in both games.

Wisconsin is ahead of them with both their losses being to worse teams, and losing to a Michigan team that Illinois blew out.

Not sure why you're shocked about that. Illinois' three wins: EIU, UL-Lafayette, Michigan. That's almost Notre Dame-like bad. They don't deserve to be ranked right now.

however if they had played 5 teams of that caliber like northwestern has, they would be ranked?

Im looking more at their losses than I am their wins. They have 2 losses, both to top 10 teams. Illinois was in both of those games, and just dismantled a Michigan team, who beat Wisconsin.

Tell me who Michigan State or Northwestern has beat?

That's fine, but anytime you lose a game or two, you're going to drop in the polls. It doesn't matter if you lose to an unranked team or the #1 team in the nation.

Michigan State just barely beat a horrible Iowa team and has beaten nobody, but they are ranked. Illinois is being punished to much for losing to 2 top 10 teams. Oh well Illinois schedule sets up very well for them from this point on.

Hey now, all the teams Iowa has lost to are ranked. We should be ranked too.

Don't worry about the rankings right now. As long as Illinois takes care of business, everything else will set itself up nicely.

I think if they played Missouri and Penn State closer (legitimately closer), they'd probably be right on the edge of the top 25. They're right on the edge of it right now without really beating a good team yet, so I wouldn't be complaining too much.

Yea thats kind of what I meant by the schedule sets up nicely for Illinois. The road game at Wisc will be tough, but we get OSU at home.

Horrible Iowa team? Obviously not that good, but horrible? That's either out of dislike for Iowa or you're going overboard trying to make your point.

They've lost 3 games (2 of them against ranked teams on the road) by a combined 9 points. They have one of the best backs in the country, a very good o-line and a very good defense. The passing game was terrible at times and they've had problems with turnovers and red zone scoring.
