Not realistic, you say? Neither is the notion that the Cubs would even consider refusing to play a game they're told to play (and which settles the wild card)

 

He can't do that. The Cubs would certainly fight it if Selig tries to steal a game from them in the playoffs. With that said, if the Cubs have to play either the Mets or Astros on Monday, the Cubs would most certainly send a team to either place, just not players like ARam/Lee/Soriano, etc, etc. The Cubs would send essentially their AAA roster to face either team.

Pedro kinda sucks now. Does he even get a playoff start at this point? Even if Santana has to pitch to end the season, the Mets can go Pelfrey, Perez, Santana, Pelfrey, Perez. John Maine could even be thrown in at some point, he's a better option than Pedro, even without pitching this month.
