What gets me is the fact that the Cubs EASILY could have swept this series. I don't like blowing a 2 run lead late in a game---even if it's a meaningless game---because that crap can be contagous, just ask the Mets. But all in all, this was more of a disappointing split for the Mets then the Cubs.

Agree completely. I know it would be kind of difficult to "back into the playoffs" 30-plus games above .500, but it's what I don't want us to do. I want a good showing this weekend.

the last 3 games with a bunch of scrubs mostly playing has no bearing on what will happen 3 days later when the playoffs start.

 

this would almost be like when the bears got mauled by the packers on NYE and freak out city happened on sports radio for the next two weeks
