It does take effort, in my opinion. When I have 500 or more windows open, it has my undivided attention and I'm constantly scrolling through the different windows to check out each tab, open up new ones, refresh those that get stuck, etc.

This thread has certainly taken an odd turn since I last read it. I'll just repeat my only hope that the Cubs will treat this more like the luxury seating lotteries and not like the lotteries that other teams run for playoff and prime regular season games.

What's the diff?

The difference is the number of people who get selected. The Cubs select a ton of people to try for the luxury seats. Other teams select very few people. The problem is that other teams do lotteries for games in high demand. The Cubs' lottery is used for seats that don't sell out in most cases.

Let's keep our fingers crossed that the Cubs will select a lot of people and will still use the VWR.

Not sure if it's been mentioned through the last five pages of whatever that was, but if I sign up for the list now, I'm automatically entered in the lottery for NLDS tickets. Is there a seperate sign up for NLCS tickets, or does my original entry carry over? I know it's probably on the Cubs website, but I can't get to that right now.

When you enter the lottery, you are included in the drawing for both the NLDS and NLCS. Whether or not you are selected to buy NLDS tix, you will still be qualified for the NLCS drawing. This is per the Cubs.com article.

If anyone gets them, please let us know when other teams are selling post season tix. At least if we can get and scalp those, we can then use the profits to try to buy Cubs tickets.

So does anyone know if multiple people from the same address can fill out applications. The rules say the same person cannot have multiple app's so I assume if there is multiple 18 year olds with credit cards they can both fill out applications?

So anybody know the answer to this ?

There's no stated policy against it. And for all we know, they may not cancel multiple entries from the same person at all. It would kind of seem like a waste of time for them and saying that all entries will be canceled if you do submit more than one is an easy way to limit them. Not many people will risk trying, though. I know I won't.

By the way, here are the prices:

I know it's probably irrational, but part of me is hesitant to register for other team's lotteries because I think that I might somehow get flagged and have all my entries denied.

I've had my parents register for this, gf will be registering soon as well.

So do you get to choose the game or do they do that for you?

All the games for a particular series go on sale at the same time. All the lottery is is a chance for you to get to the vwr. Just like regular season tickets, once you get through the vwr you can select any game to get tickets to.

Why wouldn't you be able to register for every team's lottery? There's no rule against that.

apparently I'm a bandwagon VWR winner and not a cubs fan. Thanks

Gimme a break. I was obviously referring to the masses of bandwagon fans that will come crawling out of the woodwork once the Cubs clinch a playoff spot, all scrambling to get tickets, thus making it tough for actual die-hards to get theirs. At least the lottery system gives everyone an equal chance, unlike the VWR and it's inherent potential for abuse.

Don't take things so personally. Sheesh.

I think it's quite the opposite. Lotteries encourage far more people to enter and try for tickets who otherwise would not have bothered.

Opening up a ton of windows isn't some hidden trick. Most people figured that out many years ago and I'm sure a quick google search would give anyone the answer. Or you could spend a minute figuring out which url you need during the 30 minutes before tickets go on sale. Many people do have multiple windows, but they stop at 10 instead of in the hundreds. It isn't hard work. But what's even easier is submitting a lottery entry, of which there will be far, far more than the number of people who would have tried through a VWR.

I don't think you should expect anyone here to be happy about this decision. It was easy to get NLDS and NLCS tickets last year and was going to be relatively easy again this year if you had the people and took the time. Now, the odds are quite slim. The only hope is if this will be unlike the other MLB team lotteries and they'll actually have a fair amount of people get selected (not unlike the lottery for the dugout, bleacher, and bullpen box seats). I assume they'll still use a VWR, so perhaps they just want to try and cap the number of people trying for the sake of the tickets.com servers. I kind of doubt it, though.

As for the specific seats, those won't change. Nor will the quantity. It will be the 200, 500, and some 400 level seats that aren't season tickets, as well as bleachers, just like last year.

It seems that the VWR is manipulated just as easy as a lottery. These brokers don't give a crap about the REAL FANS as long as they line their pockets.

I know we were talking about postseason tickets for other teams in this thread...

The Phillies and Mets lottery deadlines for the first round have already passed, but in case we play the Dodgers, their postseason tickets go on sale on Saturday at 10 AM PT for all the West Coasters on here.

You have to win the chance to buy Dodgers tickets though, same thing as with the Cubs. I got an email yesterday or the day before saying I wasn't selected.

I don't think they sold out using the lottery, because I got an email telling me that tickets for NLDS and NLCS with the Dodgers go on sale at 10 AM (noon for CT) on Saturday.

My friend and I signed up for all the potential post season lotteries. He won the Mets lottery. Really good chance we play them.

I have a free flight to use with Southwest, but he's not sure he can afford the plane tickets out there. I really don't want to go to New York for my first time alone. Basically I'm really hoping my friend bucks up and buys the plane tickets so I can see the Cubs in the playoffs.

I registered for all the lotteries so I could either go or sell them to make money to buy Cubs tix if I get shut out. So far, I missed out on the Mets and Red Sox for the first round.

Damn, I didn't register for either of those teams or the Phillies. I did the ones you posted in the thread earlier and then forgot to check out the other teams. Soooo I only did the Brewers, D-Backs (crap), Angels, and White Sox (for my friend-he did Cubs for me).
