I'm really worried about next week. Adrian Peterson will tear that defense apart.

for like 40 yards. BRING IT.

(im having fun here.)

He's a Colts fan.

The thing thats awesome about this....is even if this is the best we see of the Bears this year, this hopefully ensures that we will at least be competitive, which makes the season so much more enjoyable than a 4-12 team.

we gave different looks on defense, we put decent pressure on manning. but most importantly, we kept the defense off of the field and fresh and that's exactly what we need to do every week.

this is how i remember us from '05 and to a lesser extent, '06, we'd get the lead and then sit back and dare teams to throw on us, allowing our linjebackers to make plays on the short stuff. if urlacher stays healthy, we'll be able to do this, there is fuel left in that tank.

although we can't just sit on the ball, we need to throw the ball downfield enough to keep defenses honest, and it looked like orton was more than up to the task tonight. great game calling by turner, i'll give him credit for that, we ran it down their throats.

this isnt a mirage. the bears D brought it and it was man to man.

they brought the ish.

mcgowan on wayne was my pet pet peeve. when they line him up under the slot when i was worried. other than that they deserve to lose.

Nice game, but sooner or later someone's going to put 8 in the box and make Orton throw.

Plus, they won't have to go up against a completely rusty QB every game out.

Nice win, nice performance, but I'd temper any expectations.

ahhh its still fun and early.

only O's that are worth a damn to this D is Dallas and Saints.

Bears need to bring it against Dallas, they havent proven that. Saints they confused the ish out of Brees, go read the NFC Champ game where he expected zone and got press/man to man.

From the "I'm not sayin, I'm just sayin" department: The NFC went 3-1 against the AFC today, beating the Chargers, Colts and Browns. The NFC team to lose to an AFC team was the Seahawks.

I went into this game not expecting much from the Bears and came out very impressed! I'll try the same thought process next week! :D

Anyone know where i can get the highlights to todays game?

I'd be very interested in hearing the radio highlights.....I always like Joniak's calls.

I was driving back from Cincy during the game, so I watched this on Tivo.

Awesome.

Makes me look at today as a good day... knocked a game off the magic number and the Bears suddenly have decent a shot at a 3-0 start (not to get ahead of ourselves... just saying... one game, especially one that was inked in as a loss, makes a big difference)...

Anyway, Forte looked really good. Wow. I liked Marcus Harrison a lot. I don't have much in depth to say...but Mike Brown plays and our run defense looks dominant again, what a surprise...

Orton looked decent enough. Still not a fan of his long windup (or the neck-beard, for that matter), but he played fairly well. Maybe the offensive line will wind up looking a little better if Williams manages to come back in a couple months.

I don't know about that. The Colts were bringing Bethea and Sanders up to the box in the 2nd half pretty consistently. The Bears were doing a great job attacking that safety help. I think a couple times, they audibled to run the ball right at safety coming up.

I didn't think Peyton was rusty at all. I think a lot of the Colts offensive struggles had to do with Peyton's distrust of the middle of his O-line. Then secondary factors were the loss of Dallas Clark and the rustyness of Marvin Harrison, who wasn't even bad himself, but shoulda come up with a couple of deep balls.

Man, I'm still so hyped about last night! If the refs get that fumble on the kickoff right and Hester downs the 2nd half kickoff (limiting the playcalling and giving the Colts momentum), the Bears could have won a complete laugher. Even if you only give the Bears 3 with the great field position they would've gotten and take away 4 from the Colts TD drive on a short field, that's a 32-9 final.

Ron Turner called a great game. Babich called a great game. Props to Briggs for remembering how to tackle after taking standing around all preseason. Props to the Oline. JSC did just enough vs. Freeney, which may be his toughest matchup this year. Tait and Garza were excellent on the right side. Welcome to the NFL Matt Forte!

i definitely thought peyton showed a little rust, Raw. there were a few throws where they had a man beat and a perfect throw from peyton beats them. he didn't make those last night. he was good, but not as great as he typically is.

anyway, that was AWESOME!!! i've never been happier to be at work on a Monday morning (in Indy). i have to say i didn't think they had much of a chance against the Colts pass rush, but they held up on pass blocking and did a fantastic job run blocking. orton pretty much did what he did in 2005, but with a little more accuracy. having said that, i'll temper my enthusiasm for now. i will say, my hopes are certainly higher than they were before the game.

also, really pissed at myself for not jumping on those tickets when i had the chance. IDIOT!!

ETA: absolutely fantastic job against the run. 53 yards? wow.
