Why does it seem like we have this much trouble scoring runs every game we play a playoff team? The Brewers being the apparent exception.

Ramirez striking out trying to hit a 2 run homer with nobody on here is pretty predictable.

Because playoff teams are better?

How is this not obvious?

We also lost a game in our playoff cushion as the Phillies have jumped the Cardinals for 2nd in the WC and the Cubs are now 10 games ahead of them. Looks like our playoff odds are going down.

We're extremely fortunate that the Phillies didn't sweep.

They completely overmatched us.

Uh...

Their starters did, no "uhs" about it

Eh, whatever. I find it hard anyone can come up with too much emotion over this 4 game set. We did pretty much what I thought we'd do.

If we had a healthy and limber Zambrano we probably take 3 of 4.

Hamels did and that's it. How many scoring opportunities did the Cubs waste? Blanton pitched poorly and got let off the hook, Myers gave up what, like, 11 hits? Moyer's line is nothing special either.

that grand slam seems a long time ago, now.

these phillies are unbelievable against us, every single year.

at least we have a comfortable lead on the cardinals, because the lead on the brewers will not hold up if they don't lose games.

lol you already outed this as an act, therefore it can't work anymore.

OH NOES WE'RE NOT MAKING THE PLAYOFFS NOW. ONLY 10 GAME LEAD AFTER WE INEXPLICABLY SPLIT A SERIES VS A GOOD TEAM? THIS IS MADNESS

my prediction that the brewers win the division, despite this being the best cubs team in over half a century still stands.

the brewers are going to win the division. start keeping an eye on the wild card standings.

Where were you 2 days ago when the Cubs had a 6.5 game cushion?

As much as I am pessimistic right now, I'm still saying the Brewers will not win the division. You wouldn't be here right now if we had won the last 2 games.

You do realize that the Brewers face the Mets tomorrow, and Santana is pitching, right?

I like their chances off winning tomorrow better than ours. Marquis vs. Oswalt and the hot Astros. Fun.

funny how that lead dissapears before your eyes, ain't it? a month left of games is plenty of time to blow it, and i've seen enough cubs teams to know that they can easily easily blow it.

Encouraging but ultimately irrelevant given that the Brewers are incapable of losing.
