Bad news: The PBP man is none other than Dick Stockton

Over/Under on the number of names Stockton mispronounces will be set at 2.5.

Do I have any takers?

i'll take the under. he HAD to have learned his lesson after getting blasted for the playoffs.

FYI, Z has a tired arm and Sean Marshall will probably pitch tomorrow per Lou via Talking Baseball on ESPN AM 1000.

Thank God they are skipping him.

Over

I'll even predict which ones he'll screw up....

Theriot

Fukudome

and then some random guy he'll not mispronounce but say a completely different name (i.e. Adolfo and whatever it was he called Aramis in the playoffs last year.... was it Rodriguez?)

Interesting. I wonder if this is the first sign of Lou making sure his pitchers are ready to go in October.

Wind seems to be blowing OUT today. Lilly is tied for the league lead in home runs allowed and as raw said Myers has seemed to have reinvented himself as a ground ball pitcher this year.
Posted
Well, we'll see, up close and personal, if Myers is truly "reinvented" or if it was the level of competition (Nats and Dodgers). Obviously, I'm hoping the Cubs stick it to him (even if it means line drives all over the park and no homers).

I know you guys were being tongue in cheek, but this is a good thing.

It was obvious that Z had a tired arm. It's been obvious for a while. It's good news that they're finally going to do something about it. Hell, I'd skip him twice if we maintained this lead in the meantime.

I've got some good news and some bad news...

Good news: 90% of Americans who have FOX will see the Cubs game today

Bad news: The PBP man is none other than Dick Stockton

In case you are worried you aren't getting the game, you can check here:

Wow, they actually have Minot, ND on that list. I'll be watching the game :D

Too bad I have to go to work at 5 :(

Ah! That's probably gonna cost me some money in my fantasy league. I'm in the semifinals (wanted to end before football season) and was expecting 1 more start from him this week. I'm down 15 points and now down 3 starts to 4.

Hey Fred, I thought of this question during the game on Thursday. What is the Cubs ERA the inning after they either tie the game or take the lead?

It would have to be quite good, considering they take the lead a lot and hold it almost as often.

Hopefully Z gets the start Monday then, because I dont like the prospects of the Marquis vs. Oswalt matchup.

I think a more accurate stat would be team ERA when scoring 3 runs or more in the previous AB. It seems like they give at least one back more often than not.

I never really tracked that in that way.... but I was looking at runs given up after you've scored a while back. Not very interesting stuff; CUBS gave up runs like that at about the same rate as their opponents, so I didn't pursue it any further.
