Marquis is pitching a no hitter tonight.

Wouldn't that be poetic? Our worst pitcher (although he's really not that bad, but clearly the worst) pitches a no hitter for us in the middle of this magical season?

I'm not sure if it would be bigger than Estes' start against the Reds in 2003.

On the one hand, it'd be a better pitching performance. On the other hand, as bad as Marquis has been, he's a heck of a lot better than Estes.

If our 03 staff were facing this team, we'd absolutely get a no-hitter in a four game series against these guys.

What the heck is wrong with Theriot why is he swinging at first pitches now, take some pitches Theriot its what made you the .320+ hitter you were earlier.

actually he's hitting .403 when putting the first pitch into play, so i'd say that swinging at the first pitch has made him a .300 hitter.

First rule about no hitetrs is "Don't talk about no hitters."

Lets be honest. It's Jason Marquis. If that fact alone doesn't jinx him throwing a no hitter, nothing will. 8-)

It would be Clement, but he would get the loss.

Sounds about right.

Where is Matt Clement these days? I know he had a hot streak with the Red Sox in 05.

I feel that occasionally the world needs a reminder that there are time when the first pitch is a very hittable pitch, but the batter just doesn't get good contact.

I stand corrected haha

But I don't know whenever I watch the games which is pry less than most of you because I only get WGN. It always seems his good days are when he is taking 2 to 3 pitches at least and poking them into RF for singles.

LOL, this is their number three hitter?

I don't know if you should be "loling" any team's #3 hitter after the last couple of months.

It's okay to lol them now.

Last I heard, the Cardinals tried to rehab him this year, but I think they cut ties with him.
