Marquis 68 pitches through 5. Looks like probably 7 innings possibly 8 if he keeps this going. he's at about 13.6 pitches per inning if he does that he will be 95 through 7. Hopefully he gets a quick like 7 or 8 pitch inning so he can go 8, that'd be nice.

So, what are the odds that the offense gets bored and we win 4-0 now.

Well they may get impatient and want the game to be over with, 4 pitch inning for Lannan.

Be nice not to use anyone good out of the pen. That means only Howry at this point.

Yup, 4 pitch inning. Our BABIP on first pitches the last 2 days has got to be around .000

There are occasions when the first pitch thrown is a very hittable pitch.

The Cubs hit those ball pretty hard that inning, though.

This is the latest in a season the Cubs have had the best record in baseball since 1945.

if we win today, we only need to be 3 games over .500 more to be the most games over .500 since that 1945 season.

What's BABIP? I may have an idea but don't want to sound like an idiot. Which asking about it might make me sound like an idiot anyways.

Batting Average on Balls In Play

Batting average on balls in play. It generally mirror's a team's/player's line drive percentage plus a percentage.

And if we win today we will have 6 less wins than we did as a whole last season

I think the Mark DeRosa signing is the arguably the best act Jim Hendry has done.

Those Rich Harden and Aramis Ramirez guys are pretty good too.

Oh yeah definitely :good: . DeRosa has had so much impact in versatility, defense and surprisingly great offensive numbers this year. His impact has been bigger than Harden for sure, hard to say if he's been more important that Aramis, but he plays very well in ARams stead.

lol...Mark Derosa is a nice player, but to say he's for sure been bigger impact than Rich Harden is silly.

Hmm..would you agree to DeRo as 'best use of money' by Hendry?

I'd go with most cost-efficient free-agent signing, sure. Certainly better than Soriano, Blanco, or pick-your-reliever.

Agreed, thats why its weird to have such a low BABIP on first pitch hits.

He only has 2 less home runs than Lee.

Is this the stat that is an attempt to measure Luck? Sure seems like it anyway.
