With the doubleheader today it would be really nice to see Jason throw strikes and make the Braves put the ball in play. Especially with Harden starting the second game. 60 pitches over three innings just isnt good enough.

Looked to me like Marshall was warming in the pen. I would have thought he'd be saved for tonight.

 

Whatever happens, I just hope Lou doesn't try and push Harden to make up for potential bullpen overusage.

Once again, he pitched himself into trouble with McCann by trying to throw 3 consecutive changeups in the dirt. McCann fouled two of them off, then took ball 3. Marquis can't waste the 2-2 pitch. His control isn't good enough, and if McCann had kept the bat on his shoulder on the 3-2 pitch it would be a 4-1 score right now.

Throw strikes and get quick outs. I feel like Marquis' problem is he is always trying to be perfect, and in doing so just gets himself in more trouble.
