I'd sure rather have a "good" number five (bad pitcher) than an average number five (bad pitcher)

Yeah, but in a much more limited sampling, we have Sean Marshal with a 3.65 ERA and 1.16WHIP. I know hes valuable out of the pen, but he caould be one hell of a #5. Marquis might be OK out of the pen. I know the routine for a starter and reliever are very different, but Marquis usually looks solid in his first 2 or 3 innings. I know that Marquis doesnt want to be in the pen, but if he wants to make the PO roster, he should.

I don't get why Marshall doesn't pitch. I don't remember him ever being that terrible.

aside from his first outing, he was very good as a starter when Z was out.

Disappointing to only get 2 runs out of that inning.

Hopefully we'll have this guy on the ropes quite a bit more, though.

Seems like we struggle with bunts. Truth to this?

Well, Z doesn't do it often. Demp is great. Lilly, Harden and Marquis not so good.

So yeah.

Perry should be working on this with them.

Pitchers should be the best bunters on the team because they're the ones that have to do it most often.

Dang, was hoping for more than just 2 there with 2 on and none out (granted, Morton got to deal with Marquis and a slumping Fukudome but still).

At least he's already up to 57 pitches.

Yeah, that was one of the rare times we got two in an inning and I feel let down.
