Yes, dubious source, but MLBTraderumors is reporting it.

Sports 620 KTAR's John Gambadoro reports the Arizona Diamondbacks have acquired outfielder Adam Dunn from the Cincinnati Reds.

The Diamondbacks have Monday off, but start a NL West series in Colorado on Tuesday night.

Dunn is expected to start in right field.

On the bright side, this could serve as a way of seeing if Dunn can play an adequate RF. Assuming no major gaffes the rest of the way for the Dbacks, then Dunn could be a viable RF candidate as the Cubs slide Fukudome to CF for next season... :-k

The other good thing is we don't have to face him again in the regular season. There goes 6 games where he would murder a couple more homers against us. Solid pickup for the D'Backs though. Wonder what they gave up.

Fonzie-Fuku-Dunn from left to right would be inferior to Dunn-Fuku-Fonzie.

Oh, I agree that's how I'd align it, but if they don't want to move Soriano, then Dunn being able to play RF would give us the other option.

Rosenthal says no deal:

Arizona claimed the Reds left fielder on waivers and a deal was consummated before the 48-hour window expired Monday, according to major-league sources.

Dunn, who is tied for the major-league lead in home runs, will now remain with the Reds for the rest of the season.

The Diamondbacks also had interest in Dunn before the July 31 trade deadline.

How the heck did Dunn fall to them anyways?

Oh, yeah, right. There's only a few teams worse than them that could have blocked it.

Stupid Dodgers.

The first sentence contradicts the second one, unless he forgot a "not" in the first sentence.

The latest from Rotoworld suggests the deal's not done...yet.

Adam Dunn-OF- Reds Aug. 11 - 2:45 pm et

KTAR 620 in Arizona reports that the Diamondbacks have acquired Adam Dunn from the Reds for three prospects.

According to the radio station, the Reds will receive pitching prospect Dallas Buck and two players to be named later. A 2006 third-round pick who returned from Tommy John surgery in June, Buck has a 3.55 ERA and 28/11 K/BB ratio in 50 2/3 innings at Single-A. MLB.com confirms that the Diamondbacks have claimed Dunn off waivers, but reports only that the two sides "are close to working out a deal."

This makes me want the Dodgers to win that division even more now.

Definitely.

Dunn is second to only Carlos Lee in Cub-killerdom and would be a depressing move for the Cubs sake. Dunn will hit at least 2 HRs against us in the NLDS if he does in fact go to Arizona.

Now Rosenthal says there's a deal.

This one is official.

Arizona claimed Reds left fielder Adam Dunn — currently tied for the major league lead in home runs — on waivers and a deal was consummated just before the 48-hour window expired Monday, according to major-league sources.

Yeah, I think his edit on the fly ruined his story. He changed it again.

Too bad the Cubs couldn't get a bat like that through waivers! I hope we don't see the DBacks in the playoffs again this year.
