Z wasn't trouble at all after the second inning, and threw his last inning entirely from the windup. His outing isn't that big a deal.

On the other hand, Samardzija pitching this inning is stupid.

Why? Maybe Lou will actually only pitch him every other day for a while.

Because they don't need him to pitch this inning, they might need him tomorrow when it's closer and they don't want Howry or Cotts pitching in a crucial situation.

"YAY!! We won't lose 7-0, only 7-1!". Idiot Brewers and fans.

KILL THE SHARK!!

He gave up a walk and a run... I'm tired of this guy, he's no good!

Lou wants Howry pitching in crucial situations though, so.

he can pitch back to back days... just because he hasn't done it doesn't mean he can't.

Has ELCABALLO45 weighed in on the game yet?

Ben Sheets gave away the game by giving up hits and walks.

If only the Brewers had converted every single offensive opportunity, had a gold glove OF in left, and the Cubs swung at those pitches outside the strikezone, the outcome of the game would have been different. The Brewers really beat themselves tonight.

If I was 7"11' I could play basketball.

They had 1 offensive opportunity. No extra base hits.

Braun really only played that 1 ball wrong, and it still woulda been a hit had he let it drop in front of him.

The Cubs being patient at the plate is not reflective of the Brewers beating themselves either.

Was the sarcasm really not obvious enough? Don't make me bust out the green font. :)

Eh, pen still looks strong for tomorrow. You'll have Gaudin and Marmol for sure. If you need additional innings you could always bring Marshall in tomorrow and still have shark if Harden exits early Thursday. Not a terrible case either way. But to beat a dead horse, why even carry Eyre?

"You have to elevate it to get it out, and Sheets is one of the best in the game, so any time you can make contact like that you take it."

I don't know why, that just made my Aram crush get a little stronger.

Cubs will leave Milwaukee with the NL Central lead! Take one more in this series, and the Cubs can go on a nice run with the schedule coming up.

Giving up a run with a 7-run lead. That's just a big ball of suck.

He's no Bob Howry.

I hear he's fun at parties.

:hello: Just got to tip the cap tonight.

Zambrano pitched great, and when Sheets made a mistake the Cubs capitalized on it and made Sheets work.

Always tough to watch your defense perform like that. Beating Sheets and Sabathia back to back was huge, regardless of how it happened.

Man, I would have been very happy if we won just 1 of these first 2. To take both against Sabathia and Sheets is just awesome. Statement games for sure.

got to sort out this situation with eyre. Hendry needs to ask what in the blue hell is going on otherwise we are 1 man down constantly. Sort it out lou and jim.

In all likelihood they sorted it out long ago and just don't care to share every detail of their decisions with the likes of you & me.
