Of all the losses last year, that one hurt the least. You won't believe that but it's true.

 

i can believe it... notre dame fans knew the season was totally hopeless, and it's hard to root against navy because they're a service academy with physically-overmatched players who will go to serve their country after graduation.

Navy being Navy actually had little to do with it - it was just that I knew the streak was going to end sometime (and it should have on a bunch of different occasions in the last 15 years or so), so I figured it might as well end in a year where everything else was in hell.
