Thanks. I cant see him demanding a trade, so we get to enjoy him for at least another year.

I dunno, he may never win as a Cub. :-#

With a nickname like shark he needs to say with the big club. He looked very good today. That splitter was sick. Marquis, as all of us have said needs to go. I'm so sick of seeing him in a cubs uni.

Someone needs to fill the role of the fifth starter slighted because he's left off the playoff roster. Tough to find someone with as much experience at that this time of year.

For next year I'm hoping we cut Marquis (hopefully this year), trade Lilly, sign someone like Sabathia (our new owner, Mark Cuban, will have the money), and go with a rotation of Zambrano, Sabathia, Harden, Hill, Samardzija. The amazing part is that it doesn't seem that unrealistic.

Sabathia has stated his first 2 choices are The Dodgers and Angels, both teams that would love to have him, and both teams that could easily afford him.

What other FA pitchers are there for Cuban to snatch up?

Ben Sheets.

I'm good with one injury risk in our rotation, thanks.

I'll admit, this is a biased choice. I've wanted to root for Sheets since he left Northeast Louisiana. When the Brewers weren't that good, I could root for him in every start he didn't face the Cubs. The last two seasons, not so much. If he were on the Cubs, he'd rank right up there with my Theriot/Fontenot love.

You mean ULM, right.

It was Northeast Louisiana when Sheets played for them. The name change occurred after he left.

I can guarantee a win today.

I'm using the undefeated Soriano jersey today.

In the last two years

4-0 Soriano jersey

5-2 Lee jersey

4-3 Prior jersey

ahem

make that 5-0

so the question is obvious: why wear anything but the Soriano jersey? As I see it, we'd have a 6 game lead if you had just done this. Jerk.

The Cubs WILL win this game by more than 3 runs. And the Brewers will lose.

Well, I was damn close here.

I like being wrong on days like this.

All of their ridiculous comeback wins have happened when I've had to go to work.

Let's look on the bright side, Marquis did miss the "Ervin Santana definition of a good start" by one run.....

(Imitating Bill Murray from Caddyshack) He has that going for him.

If that isn't motivation to put in more shifts, I don't know what is....

I think that * :this: is the very definition of "taking one for the team".
