None of this happens if DeRosa runs through the bag instead of sliding.

Namely because he would have been safe if he ran through the bag instead of getting his arms jammed in the dirt and being out by sliding in head first.

Because you say so?

Skidding on the ground losing speed is not the fastest way to first

Didn't his hands stop in the dirt right before the bag?

ETA: And the obvious, running at full speed is faster than sliding through dirt.

So where is this awful defense from Hanley I keep hearing about? His arm's not great, but his range looks above average.

I think he has always had the talent to make great plays, it's just that he sometimes screws up the easy ones.

If Hermida hits a HR to lead off the inning, the Cubs should just treat it like a walkoff and just leave the field to end the game. Edited by UMFan83

The correct call was made, but I don't know why Sinatro was tossed so quickly. I am watching without volume and I know that he slammed his helmet, but this happens quite frequently with baserunners going down the line and being thrown out and they don't get tossed.
