Most of those 71 rush yards came on the 1st two runs plays by Gore, they missed some tackles and Gore cutback on them.

They haven't put any pressure on them, Vasher and Tillman are playing way off tonight for some reason. M. Brown let Hill run right by him for the TD. Somehow the defense was setup to have Hunter H. one on one against V. Davis on a deep slant and he'll beat any of the LBs everytime.

There were some bad calls, no holding call against A. Brown and a questionable pass interference against Tillman.

The pass play with Bradley was a blown coverage.

O-line looking shockingly effective tonight. I'd love to see Rex working with that kind of time and protection, though Orton looking rather solid.

Granted, this is the 49's, which makes the Bears' defense's ugly play thus far all the more embarassing.

Garret Wulf (Wolf?) is tiny.

Wolfe has little to no business in the NFL, IMO.

Orton and R. Davis seem to have a nice feel for other.

I'm impressed with Orton so far. Granted it's the 49ers and the O-Line is holding up. That being said he's using the backs, TE's, and WR's.

But, did anyone see the Fox preview for the show where fat people were trying to fit thru a wall with holes cut thru it and falling into water or was I imagining things?

I hope I wasn't.

Is it as bad as the stats look?

71 rush yards, 137 pass yards and 20 pts against the D with a good amount of time left in the first half.

Offense has 92 pass yards (2 TD passes for Orton!) and 33 rush yards. How was the big pass play to Bradley?

Yes. Nobody seems to know where they are supposed to be on defense.

The play to Bradley was a busted coverage. He ran past a LB and was wide open. Rashied has looked excellent, except he dropped a TD pass just a few minutes ago.

Tillman and Vasher still playing 10+ yards off. The worst was against the 49'ers and T. Owens when he had 20 catches. Also, they did against the Lions awhile back that pissed me off.

They are abusing Tillman.

Am I the only one that's not impressed with our defense? I'm not talking just about tonight either. They're still getting the reputation they earned in 06'. They were flat awful last year. I know they had injuries, but 28th in the league? They haven't looked good in the preseason. I honestly don't expect even a top 10 defense this year. As they block a FG...

They're bad. They're not getting that same push from T. Harris and Babich is content on trying to get a pash rush from the front 4 and allowing the QB all day to throw.

The Bears are trying to win with a defense that isn't very good and like you said, living in the past.

If I were to describe Orton based on this half alone, I'd say he makes good decisions and has a good arm. My main concern would be that it seems to take him a little too long to make those decisions. Thankfully, the offensive line has been very good in pass protection today.

Can we clone Idonije?

It does take him awhile and I don't think he's very accurate, espec. when the defense has been putting pressure on him, he gets flustered.

That's exactly what I would say.

Wow! I just saw that hole in the wall commercial, Ping. What a horrible, horrible idea!

Nope, I wasn't. I do plan on watching this for at least 30 minutes.

While I'd rather see Grossman as the starter, I'm encouraged by Orton.

(for the record, neither are QBs to build upon as the Bears should be working to develop one)

I think that is a popular Japanese show, though I haven't seen those commercials. American stations seem to be stealing those ideas at a quicker rate now.

Nice run, Jones!

If I am not mistaken they are blindfolded too.
