The bottom line is that when your 2nd and 3rd round picks can't even make it as backups..you have some issues. Let's dismiss the notion that Angelo is some defensive guru...he hasn't had a gem since 2004(Harris and Vasher). I guess you coudl maybe consider Mark Anderson if he figures out how to become more than a 1 dimensinoal player.

despite MA's apperance as a 1 dimensional player, he has shown he can contribute in this league. Its up to the coaches to know how. I give Lovie credit, he let the MA-as-a-starter trial happen, and it didnt work, so he is going back to Brown.

Rosie Colvin was released from the Texans today. I think he had a foot injury that hobbled him all preseason. I think someone here mentioned giving him a shot in the preseason, doesnt look like he offers a whole lot anymore.

Okwo and Bazuin, gone.

Wasted picks. Good job Jerry.

And it's only a matter of time before we add Wolfe to that list, IMHO.

What happened to the draft magic anyway, JA????

RT Willie Anderson was released by the Bengals. Move Tait to LT. I think think Tait is a better LT or crazy crazy thought (hey this is the bears Oline we are talking about so is anything crazy is worth thinking about) put Anderson at RG. Yeah its kinda late for a position switch(he wont be ready for a couple weeks)...but im desperate over here!

And Im not offering Babich ANY excuses this year. He is on a short leash like Turner is for me. I didnt like what Jauron did with defense when he had those guys(i wanted to punch Greg Blache in his stupid face), i thought they were much better, well i think way more of these current players than what Jauron had. This defense better bring it or im going to be pissed.

Anderson probably doesn't have much left. He's 33. Coming off of missing over 1/2 of the 2007 season. He was a Pro Bowler as recently as 06, but that was probably more based on reputation. That being said, he'd be an extra body capable of giving you an above average blocker upfront. He'd be an upgrade over St. Clair now (going to RT, with Tait at LT). And if Williams does come back this year, he'd be a pretty good guy to bridge the gap. The Bears have a spot for him as they could release Barton who is nothing special or they could IR Williams, if they don't think he will come back in 08.

Getting Anderson would be similar to the Fred Miller move a couple years ago. May be decent for a year, but shouldn't count on him much after that.

I'd bring him in and IR Williams, make the switch (Tait back to LT).

A Fred Miller type move isn't that bad of an idea for '08, because in theory we have a path forward with Williams @ LT in '09.

Bears pick up OL help:

OG from UW -- he's been recovering from knee surgery for the past year, says he's finally healthy again. He did start for Tampa before he went down.

Anyone know anything about this guy? I'd trust Gruden on offensive linemen. Hopefully he can help--god knows we need it.

Can he play tackle? Bears still need one of those.
