Lou just said that Harden will start Saturday.

Great thanks to Fox I wont be able to watch this game, even though I paid $180 for MLB Extra Innings, it looks like I'll be watching little 3D guys that look the same on Gameday.

My understanding is that with this being a 12:05 start time, the game will not be blacked out. Fox controls the 2:55 to 6:00pm central time window, so had the game been a 1:20 start, it would be blacked out, since there'd be considerable overlap. But since the game, in all likelihood, will be over by that time, or might bleed over be a few minutes, the game will not be blacked out. That's been the case with every other 12:05 start we've had on Saturday's before.

Oh, MAN, I'm gonna be pissed if I can't get to this game. I was scheduled to work a quick shift 10-2 and then have time to get to the game, but now I'm scrambling to get coverage.

EI still blacks out all Saturday games that start before 7PM EST.

Who do blackouts affect? Can someone explain that to me?

Affects millions and millions of angry customers. This blackout rule is possibly the most stupidest thing I ever heard of in my entire life.

Any of us who have to rely on EI to watch out of market games.

What is that an abbreviation for?

Extra Innings.

If you guys would stop buying the Extra Innings package until they fix the blackout rule, it might get fixed :-"

I did. It's torture, but at least I can buy the gameday audio and be blackout free.

At the risk of being really really [expletive], why wouldn't you just watch the game on Fox? Isn't there no other game up against it so won't it be televised nationally?

I get the DBacks and Phillies instead.

It's not televised by Fox. Fox televises later afternoon games (usually at least two games split regionally).

Fox does multiple games and televises them regionally, based on previously determined markets. Even when I was in Milwaukee, I would get the Brewers game telecast over the Cubs game because of my market. Most people around the country only see about half of the Cubs games that we in Chicago see (those on WGN)

Someone posted a thread to Sopcast or something in a thread that links to a channel that should show the game. Don't feel like looking for it, but it's out there.

Isn't the saturday game on comcast?
In the Chicago market, yes. For those of us out of market who rely on Extra Innings, no.

This means for you guys that want to see Harden pitch, outside of the area, better get ready to go to the local bar for the game and Liquid Lunch. :good: Prediciton 6 IP 3 H 0 ER

Vance is correct. EI hasn't shown a game on Saturday earlier than 4pm PST all year long.

Fox will be showing a heaping pile of crap tv show prior to the start of their game of the week.

I, for one, will not be able to watch this game. But, I won't be watching the Fox game, either, so we'll call it even.

I keep reading about going to the local bar for games I can't see at home. Am I missing something? Why does a bar get games that I don't?

I believe businesses that allow their customers to watch pay a higher fee to be able to show just about any game. Basically, the business is profiting off of the viewers.
