LOL at this moron on ESPN 1000..Said we gave up to much young talent and theyre going to break through..What a dumbass

I could see Murton improving with a better coaching staff in Oakland, and Gallagher will be good down the line. I don't know anything about Donaldson. I don't know if EPatt has what it takes.

Call me crazy, but getting Gauden in this deal was a GREAT move by jim. He is a guy we can use in many ways, either as a 6th inning guy, setup guy, or even a starter. Great job Jim! You're the man!

You know, I had a feeling something like this was going to happen. I was playing computer games and just out of the blue saved and quit and came here because I had a feeling something was going down.

Biggest trade since Nomar. Hopefully it'll work out better for us, though.

I've got a hardon for Harden!!!

Post of the day and probably an off-color Wrigley t-shirt at work already.

On a side note, Mr. Gallagher if you're reading this thread. Wish Sean well for us as he moves to Oakland. I'll still root for him in his starts there.

Agreed. He was a class act and I wish him all the best on his new career path.

We all need to hope Rothschild and O'Neal learned something from working with Wood and Prior.

At least we have Lou keeping an eye on Harden rather than Baker.

I stil can't believe the best player we gave up was Gallagher. I'm really shocked.

Wowowowowowowowow. I can't believe it. My friend sent it to me from MLBTR so I wasnt sure if it was true, but here it is. Unbelievable.

Guys like Murton and Patterson are fine but they are easily replaceable. I hate giving up Gallagher but I knew either him or Marshall would be gone, and I was ok as long as we kept one. I don't know much about Donaldson, but we have Soto.

Harden is one of the best pitchers in the league when healthy. I'm just asking for half a season out of him.

Great job Jimbo, great job.

Yes, thanks for all the posts (and the scoop when Sean was first called up  ). I hope you keep posting from time to time.

Wow, gutsy move by Jim. I wouldn't consider this an outright steal, because you can't negate the health questions. But it's a ballsy "go for it" type move that I have to applaud.

i would agree with that. i just don't see this trade having the potential to bite the cubs in the ass. i guess gallagher has the highest ceiling of any of the guys leaving, and i don't see him as anything more than a #3.

should have waited until after tonight's game so murton could hit against harang though.
