6/30 Cubs (Lilly) @ Giant (Zito) 9:15 CT, CSN+

The more I look at it, the more I think we are going to have a really tough time against Zito tonight.

 

- Fukudome has looked horrible against lefties lately

- Despite having 2 hits last night, Edmonds is simply not the same player against lefties

- Cedeno is horrible against lefties

- No Ramirez, no Soriano greatly reduces our power

 

Overall, we do not have a good lineup to match up against lefties right now, and we seem to be facing a number of them in a row.

 

However, Soto, Lee and Theriot really hit lefties well, so hopefully Lilly can pitch a good game and we can come out with a 3-0 or 4-1 or 5-2 game

They still have a guy OPSing over 1.000 against LHP(Soto), another nearly .950(Lee), another over .850(DeRosa), another over .800(Theriot), plus Fukudome's stellar OBP in the leadoff spot and Murton's stellar history(.875+ career OPS against LHP). The lineup is fine to face LHP, even without Soriano and Ramirez.

Sure it is. He had 2 hits against one yesterday and that raised his OPS to .559. It's nearly impossible to be that bad overall yet not struggle against half of them.
