I love the fact that DirecTV has mirrored all of the stations with Olympic coverage onto channels 750-756. Makes channel flipping a lot easier

Did not know that.

and you can push the red button to get medal counts, play trivia, and see what's planned for all of the channels covering it

This is kind of a weird story.

I don't think she's a traitor to her country, and I have no problem with someone playing for a country in which they've lived or even have heritage, but she's not Russian, had never been there, and was basically hired on as a free agent. If the Olympics is going to be about nationalistic pride, there has to be some kind of nationalism involved in the team.

aren't there rules regarding this?

Apparently, she was eligible because she is a Russian citizen (gained while she was playing there) and has never represented the U.S. in international play.

I think it's ridiculous, personally.

Yeah, Jim Caple insinuates that the only people who can have a problem with this are people hung up on the Cold War. I think it's really odd that somebody can compete for a country simply because they played some pro ball there. I wouldn't expect any of the Russian women to represent the US in tennis, or Lance Armstrong to ride for the French. It's kind of silly if you ask me. It's one thing to be born in one country, and then move to and become a citizen of another country and represent them. And I also don't think it's the same as coaches working for players/teams from another country.

i say good for her...the us team didn't want her so she took her game to a place that wanted/needed it....what she did is within the rules so i don't see where the problem is.

Seems like the issue people have is with the rule, not Becky Hammon's choice to take advantage of it.

Just watching the boxing. At the end of a third round here, the guy in red moves in on the guy in blue. The guy in blue tries to turn and simply held up his hands to protect himself while the guy in red got a blow or two in. No punches were thrown by the guy in blue.

A point was added for the guy in blue right before the end of the round.

Is there somewhere online to watch Phelps' races live? I'd prefer to do that if possible rather than find out the results and wait three hours to actually watch them.

Synchronized diving is made even more boring when the Chinese so predictably dominate everything. US women's gymnastics better kick some ass.

They're not even showing the baseball game online.

They have ping-pong and fencing but not baseball.

They'll pick up those faux gold medals at Wal-Mart and give 'em out at the end.
